Hi
It was definitely a warm day yesterday, but it was about ideal for our first Family Festival of the summer.
We were entertained throughout the afternoon from the stage. Some danced while others relaxed in the shady tree covered areas Rush Park is famous for. There were games and activities for the kids and food trucks galore.
As the sun started to descend in the west, a steady stream of couples and families was seen filling the park. As the food truck lines grew, more and more residents and visitors were enjoying their afternoon. Parents and grandparents played with and attempted to corral their kids, frisbees flew about, and games of catch and tag were played.
As the temperatures dropped into the very comfortable mid-70s, "Stone Soul" took the stage to perform and close out the evening. The dance floor came alive and people of all ages, shapes and sizes moved to the rhythm of the Motown sounds from the band. Fan favorite tunes from The Temptations, The Supremes, James Brown, and Stevie Wonder took the audience down memory lane, with many singing (or at least mouthing the
words). All in all a great evening.
Come out and join us for the next Family Festival at Rush Park on Saturday, July 9th from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Rossmoor Red Cross Blood Drive
Next Wednesday we have our monthly Red Cross Blood Drive at Rush Park. The drive runs from 9:00 to 3:00 and is a critical part of the Southern California blood supply system. Please sign up to donate if you are able. Thanks!
Free Catalytic Converter Etching
In support of SB 986 which tackles catalytic converter theft by requiring dealers to apply a vehicle identification number (VIN) to the catalytic converter of each vehicle listed for sale, and other catalytic converter theft prevention efforts, AAA SoCal is partnering with legislators and local law enforcement agencies to host free etching events to the public for the week of June 13th-June 18th.
