Hi
After a very warm weekend, it looks like we will have very nice mid-70's temperatures in the coming week. Great weather, and it looks like tonight we will have a clear sky for the lunar eclipse (see
below).
Street Sweeping Monday & Tuesday
Yes, it is that time. The THIRD week and that means the sweepers will be in Rossmoor to clean things up and help the environment. On Monday they will sweep the odd sides of the street and on Tuesday, they will be back to sweep the even side of the street. Please (pretty please if it helps) move your vehicles from the side of the street being swept. And remember if Monday or Tuesday is your waste pick-up day, place your carts on the parkway or driveway apron so they do
not block the sweepers. Thanks for your help.
Full Moon & Lunar Eclipse Tonight
Lunar eclipses occur when Earth aligns between the sun and the moon and casts a shadow across the lunar surface. A lunar
eclipse only happens during a full moon and can last as long as six hours, according to the European Space Agency (ESA)
Weather permitting, the best view will be tonight from abut 9:30 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. during totality, with 100% of the Moon turning a dark red color as it passes through the Earth's shadow.
Total lunar eclipses occur when the whole moon passes through the innermost part of Earth's shadow — the umbra. During a total eclipse, the Earth blocks all direct sunlight from reaching the lunar surface. Instead, sunlight scattered by Earth's atmosphere is reflected off the moon's surface, giving it its copper hue. This type
of lunar eclipse is known as a "blood moon" due to its striking red appearance.
This will be the first of two lunar eclipses in 2022. The next one will take place on Nov. 8, 2022. It will be visible at least partially from Asia, Australia, North America, parts of northern and eastern Europe, the Arctic and most of South America.
