The National Weather Service  got it right when they issued the following heat advisory for our area:

EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS
MORNING UNTIL 8:00 PM MONDAY.

And then the good news:

Moderate confidence that a cooling trend will start by Tuesday after Labor Day.

Don't you love the all caps in these warnings? And then of course, using upper and lower case, they to predict the cooling trend. Anyway, I digress.

Limit your exposure to the sun/heat over the next few days and through the weekend. Stay hydrated and be a good neighbor, please check in on any of your neighbors who may be homebound to make sure they are okay as well. 

Please take necessary precautions through the weekend 

and stay cool and safe.

RCSD Committee Meeting Tonight 

Rossmoor's Community Service District (RCSD) is holding  an Ad-hoc Traffic/Safety Advisory meeting (Directors DeMarco and Searles) at ROSSMOOR PARK COMMUNITY CENTER on Wednesday 8/31 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss a draft ordinance for street parking in Rossmoor.

Please note that the meeting is at ROSSMOOR PARK rather than the normal Rush Pak facility.

While November is a while off still, our Meet Your Candidates Night is just a few weeks away away. 

The candidates for each of the five races that directly represent Rossmoor are set (see the list here) and between now and election day on Tuesday November 8th, we will be assembling information on each of the candidates so you can both get to know them a little better and determine who you feel will best represent your interests in the next term of office.

Our Meet Your Candidates Night Town Hall this year is on Thursday, September 29th in the Rush Park Auditorium. We plan to begin at 6:30 p.m. And prior to the Town Hall we will be posting the answers to the questions you share with us. Some will be submitted to the candidates as written questions and others will be used during the live Town Hall event.

Now is the time to start submitting your questions.

We have invited all 12 candidates for the 45th US Congressional District, 36th State Senate District, 70th State Assembly District, Los Alamitos Unified School District Trustee Area 3, and the Rossmoor Community Services District to attend. 

Because of the redistricting, most of the seats do not have an incumbent running for re-election. At this time, only LAUSD Trustee Diana Hill and RCSD Director Jeffrey Rips are running for re-election to their current district and office.
