Library Book Sale
This Thursday and Saturday the Friends of the Los Alamitos - Rossmoor Library have a book sale. Come by between 9 and 4 and pick up a few books
for your next reading adventure. And if you have a little time on Wednesday to help set up please stop by at about 3:30. The Friends can also use a hand taking things down on Saturday afternoon at about 3:30 as well. Make a friend, lend a hand.

Shakespeare By The Sea 2023
Shakespeare by the Sea has just announced their selections for this
summer. Two of my favorite Shakespeare productions: Twelfth Night & Hamlet.

There’s no question that the pandemic has been hard on children, whether or not their schools have reopened. A flood of research in recent months has found alarming spikes in depression and anxiety among children and their parents.
Parents in our wonderful community reached out to us for help so we designed a program that can improve mental health for our
youth.
View U program provides opportunities for youth to use their time in positive ways, identify and cope with problems, build self-esteem, peer leadership skills, bullying prevention activities, and mentorship opportunities. This program will serve more than 500 youth annually.
View U, is a program designed to connect and empower youth through interactive therapeutic workshops, and provide them opportunities to look deeper into themselves, learn more positive lifestyles, and enhance their capacity to make healthier life choices.
If you have a 6th to 8th grade student, consider plugging them into the View U program. Connecting with their peers is a very good thing.
