Who's with us? OurRossmoor's Community Engagement
Coordinator is starting a Book Club!
This year, our theme is SUSTAINABILITY and our first book is a bestseller work of fiction, called FLIGHT BEHAVIOR (2013), by Barbara Kingsolver. Here's what the New York Times says about it:
“Marvelous…This is fiction rich in empathy, wit and science. Like the butterflies that astonish Feathertown, Kingsolvian gifts are ‘fierce and wondrous,’ ‘colors moving around like fire.’”
Our Library has copies available, plus audio versions (they count, too), or you can always purchase your own copy elsewhere. You can even access our library's online offerings to read the first two
chapters, and see if this book is interesting enough to join us. There is full summary of the book in the comments onthe post in the Community Engagement Group.
I'm reading 100 days -- the club's timeline will be driven by interest of its participants - we might read one book this year, we might read 12. New projects are always fun!
And if we have members who want to do more than read - there could be opportunities for virtual and in-person discussion groups - otherwise, it will be read-at-your-own-pace, and we'll do a wrap up, when
most are ready. we welcome your help in joining this outreach opportunity.
