Hi Our weather should hold through our Rossmoor Farmers Market and then we could get some rain late Thursday evening and into Friday. Rossmoor Farmers Market Tomorrow
(Thursday) the Rossmoor Farmers Market will be open for business from 4 to 7 at Rush Park. Stop by for a few minutes and pick up dinner, a tasty treat or some fruits and vegetables. It's a quick stop and there are always new vendors and our favorite regulars ready to serve you. Who knows, you may even run into some of your friends and neighbors. Protect Our Community Group To Meet Thursday Speaking of Thursday at Rush
Park. The Protect Our Community group (POCnow.org) is holding a community information meeting tomorrow night (2/16) at 7:00 p.m. in the Rush Auditorium. The group plans to provide information regarding the housing element and its potential impacts on Rossmoor, Los Alamitos, Seal Beach, and West Garden Grove. California State Parks Pass @ Our Libraries The California State Library Parks Pass offers vehicle day-use entry to over 200 participating state park units operated by State
Parks to library-card holders. California public library-card holders can check out the vehicle day-use pass at their local public library. Neighborhood Watch Tips: It's well known that most criminals repeat actions and patterns
that work. When we as neighbors report anything that is not normal and compare notes with each other: - We proactively put perimeters of "defense" up (i.e. "don't think that your casing our homes will keep working in our neighborhood),
- Criminals really don't want to get caught, so in time, they will stay out of our neighborhood because we team up with the OCSD to catch them.
- TheOCSD remains the "keeper of the info" - they are the ones who
are "building" the patterns of behavior to "proactively" stop and catch the criminals.
It makes sense that even if Rossmoor had an army of law enforcement in the area, our eyes (the eyes of the residents) and awareness would always be MORE. Of course, all this goes without saying, if you see something, call the sheriff's department, and do not jeopardize your own safety.... And please do report
suspicions -- nothing is too trivial. OCSD: 714-647-7000. If it is a crime in progress, dial 9-1-1 Some of us have actually memorized the number and/or saved it on our phones so that we don't need to look for it when we need it most.

OC Boards, Commissions, & Committees |
Sometimes, the best way to understand our government and how it works is to become a part of the work and processes that guide the decisions. Here's a place where many OC residents begin their involvement. Many of these
positions are appointed and advisory in nature. These people work together with county staff to help the county decision makers. For example, are you interested in Animal Care Outreach, Assessment Appeals, Campaign Finance & Ethics, the John Wayne Airport Arts, or our Orange County Parks? This is the place to start.
