Happy Mother's Day!

Mother's Day is the day of the year that we actually stop and honor our moms, grandmothers, and those that have been like mothers to us. And our daughters who have become mothers along with those who are good mothers to children around the world. Just a word of thanks to those who are "moms" 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Thank you for being there.

Street Sweeping This Week.

Monday and Tuesday this week are street sweeping days. Please move your vehicles from the OOD side of Rossmoor streets on Monday and the EVEN sides of the streets on Tuesdays. Keeping our streets clean helps the neighborhood and our environment. Thanks for your help.

Rossmoor Clean Up Event - Saturday May 20

CR&R and the RCSD are hosting a Clean Up event at Rush Park on Saturday, May 20th from 9:00 to Noon. This Clean Up day is your opportunity to bring those larger items that cannot be picked up on your regular waste collection days to Rush Park for disposal. See the flyer below for specific details on what is acceptable to drop off at Rush Park during the event.

Rossmoor Residents - Get 2 Bags of Compost - FREE

CR&R is also providing two free bags of compost to Rossmoor residents at Rush Park on Saturday, May 20th from 9:00 to noon or while supplies last. This compost is great for your plants and gardens. Stop by and pick up your two free bags from CR&R.

Curb Address Painting Continues!

More and more addresses have been refreshed and updated.

The Rossmoor Homeowners Association repaints the curb address at every Rossmoor home every 3 years as a courtesy to you and for your safety. Our contractor is making his way through Rossmoor.

Has he hit your street yet? Go out and check! Every once and a while, an address gets missed, or there's a car parked in front of the "old" address and it can't be repainted. If this happens to you - no worries. Just reach out to us or reply to this email and let us know. The sooner we know the better though.

Once the neighborhood project is complete, it may be a few weeks before we can get it painted. And if it's after the summer before you let us know, it may not be able to get done at all. Go take a look now while you're thinking about it. We will wait for you🙂

How Long Will It Take?

The process, which started 2 weeks ago, should take between four and six weeks to complete. Our painter, Tim Major, started in the northern section of the neighborhood and is working his way south. He's about half way done at this point. We will update you with some photos once we catch up with him on the street. Please watch for his cart as you are driving through Rossmoor during the day.

In light of the increased air travel going over Rossmoor due to runway repairs at Long Beach Airport, we thought it would be good to give you an opportunity to voice your opinion and make your thoughts count with the FAA.

The FAA comment period runs May 1- July 31, 2023. The FAA is hosting live webinars on Zoom & streamed on YouTube

RHA Graduation Parade - Registration Open Monday

ATTENTION SENIORS - That's high school graduates in the Class of 2023.

This Monday, May 15th registration opens for the 4th Annual Rossmoor Graduation Parade which will be held on Saturday June 3rd. There's no cost to sign up, but registration is required to be part of the parade. And, yes we do check you in.

The parade is open to all graduates who live in the area (so yes, if you are graduation this year and you didn't go to Los Al, you are welcome to join this community cerebration!).

This year's parade will end at Rush Park so the seniors and their friends and family members can sign yearbooks, socialize, listen to music, and join in with the first Rossmoor Family Festival of the year! It's going to be a great celebration!

Last Week To Get Garden Tour Tickets!

Maybe your idea of a suburban garden is a place where you can get down in the soil with some seeds and a spade. Or maybe you’d rather just throw a steak on the barbie and chill by the pool. Either way, the 19th Annual Rossmoor Woman’s Club Spring Garden Tour has you covered.

The fundraising event on Sunday May 21 features six homes in Rossmoor and Los Alamitos where owners have created their own dream landscapes.

For die-hard gardeners, there’s a home surrounded by jasmine, roses and poufs of geraniums. At another, real lavender, roses and wildflowers mix with faux blossoms for a lush English country look. At a third, a water-wise Mediterranean plot features decomposed granite walkways, in-ground succulents and native grasses, with cutting flowers, vegetables and herbs corralled in a container garden with drip irrigation.

For outdoor living aficionados, there are pools, spas, outdoor kitchens, pizza ovens, big screen TVs, fireplaces and other amenities of the California outdoor lifestyle.

The self-guided tour is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It includes an outdoor market place at Arbor Village featuring refreshments, raffle baskets and music by harpist Julio Montero. The woman’s club will offer some plant arrangements for sale, too.

Tickets, which contain addresses and a map to all the homes, are $20 per person. They may be purchased in advance from any club member, from a selection of local merchants or, for a $1 service fee, on the club website

Tickets will also be for sale the day of the tour at the outdoor marketplace, which will be directly behind Flags With a Flair in Arbor Village (10651 Los Alamitos Blvd., Los Alamitos). Tickets purchased online must be picked up at this site on the day of the event.

All net proceeds go to fund scholarships for Los Alamitos High School seniors and Youth Center-nominated volunteers and to support local charities in the Los Alamitos/Seal Beach and Long Beach areas.
