Hi
After a little more rain over night, it looks like we are clear sailing for at least the next week. We may even touch 70 over thew weekend. I do love the rain, but, even I think we can use a break from it. Besides, BASEBALL
is back starting tomorrow. It should be another great season ahead...

Los Al Show Choir - NYC Competition Results
HEART OF AMERICA NEW YORK CITY RESULTS
Congratulations to Los Al Show Choir's Sound FX for their outstanding showing at the Heart of America Competition in New York City on Saturday. These talented students came away with Best Visuals, Best Vocals, Best Show Design, Best Costumes were named and for the 16th time, they won
Grand Champion!
The Choir's Soundtrax group also did very well with Best Costumes and 🥇1st Runner Up in the NYC Heart of America Competition.
While people who
follow choir may know, we were surprised to learn that most of the most of the Midwest and East Coast high school choirs are ending their competition seasons at this point of the year. In California, the choir competition season is just getting start. The NYC competition is only the second competition of the season for the Los Al Show Choirs. Making these accomplishments even more incredible.
Congratulations to all of our students,
teachers, coaches, back stage assistants, and parents who make these programs not just possible but deliver high quality productions. Well done!
Expanded Tutoring Program: Jobs & Better Grades
The Youth Center’s after-school tutoring program teaches kids from TK to
eighth grade in subjects from English to math to science. Recently, the program expanded by adding another tutor, so multiple sessions can run in the same time slot. This allows more kids access tutoring so they don’t fall behind close to the end of the school year.
“Everyone needs a little extra support sometimes, and we at The Youth Center are here to provide that,” said Janae Roberts, Youth Programs Supervisor.
Each 30-minute tutoring session costs $15, and tutors are available Monday through Friday from 2:30-6 p.m. at the Youth Center or their Rossmoor Park location.
“We're always looking for new hires and kids that are interested,” said
Johnny Flaim, the Youth Center’s Tutor Lead.
So if you know of a elementary or middle school student that might need a
little boost OR a high school/college student who would like a paid position to help the the Tk-8th grade students, please contact The Youth Center (562.493-4043) or email Janae Roberts (janae@theyouthcenter.org)
Did you see this? This Friday @ Rush Park!!
