Hi,

The next week looks nice with highs in the upper 70s. With cooler evenings, it's a great time to get out and walk for the fresh air and exercise.

Speaking of Exercise

When you get our and about to exercise (or just stay at home and work out), water is a critical need for you and your body. August is National Water Quality month and we've got some tips for you on how to keep our water safe and clean. Check them out.

Street Sweeping Monday - ODD Addresses

Even though last Tuesday was the first one of the month, this Monday is the first Monday, which means sweepers will be here to sweep the ODD side of our streets.

In The Coming Weeks...

With Weaver starting back to school last week and the rest of the district will start back on Monday, August 14th, we will have some new traffic patterns in and around all the schools, including the middle and high schools. Just please be mindful and just everyone a little grace. We've got this Rossmoor!

The last of the summer concert series for both Seal Beach and Los Al this upcoming Wednesday and Thursday (details below), and of course our Rossmoor Certified Farmers Market every Thursday continues to amaze Come check it out!

The Rotary Club of Los Alamitos / Cypress / Seal Beach is hosting the 31st Annual Seal Beach Fishing Derby for those 15 and under on Saturday August 19th from 7:00 to noon. Free pancake breakfast provided by the Seal Beach Lions for those who register for the free event.

There's also a Senior Expo hosted by the City of Los Alamitos on Wednesday, August 23rd from 10:00 to Noon in the Los Alamitos Recreation Center. This event promises to be a lot of fun for all those 50+.

Restoration at its finest.... We seldom think of transit agencies outside of the boxes we
put them in. How do building, paving, and expanding roadways, become something that nourishes us? Here is a great example of how our OCTA is moving OC forward - for our health and well-being.

We can all list things about traffic and what's wrong about our roadways. Can we
list an equal number of things that are right, and then applaud our support services and agencies for bringing their visions to us in the form of planned open spaces?

OCTA and all of our support agencies are about possibilities... and
being better, not just fixing things to make the dollars stretch.

Restoration starts at the top, then filters down from the engineers to the imagineers, long before their ideas uplift into becoming. First they see - and then the possibilities become.

Roadways, bikeways, pathways, natural meditation spaces connected thru transit.....the possibilities are endless. Let's uplift! Imagineers & Engineers - Better Together.

Bike Safety Tips & Reminders

In our continuing series about bikes and safety, we thought we would share some tips from the pros.

Part of the Challenge

As highlighted by the chart on the site, part of the challenge we face today is that bikes in general, and specifically e-bike types 1 & 2 are legal for children under 16 to ride. This is a good thing for the most part; still, these riders have not had any training about the vehicle code or bike safety. While our community and schools are working to fill this gap, it remains incumbent on these riders’ parents to educate them and keep them safe.

Los Alamitos Concert Series - Thursdays

Thursday July 20th is the next Los Al Concert - this time at Little Cottonwood Park with local favorite Woodie & The Longboards. This Beach Boys tribute band will play from 6:30 to 8:00. A great time to escape to the park for some good music and you can grab some food and enjoy a dance (or just watch those that do - it's all good)! It's free. See you there!

Seal Beach Concert Series - Wednesdays

Wednesdays from July 5th to August 9th Eisenhower Park in Seal Beach (that's by the SB Pier off Main Street), will host six great local bands of talented musicians and acts on those hot summer nights! Come join the fun from 6:00-8:00 p.m. each week. It's free.
