Hey,

Our high temperatures have slipped to the mid-60's for the next week or so. Otherwise nothing remarkable weather-wise is going on.

The excitement of the end of the school year has hit Rossmoor. Year end events, proms, awards, AP Testing, and fun activities will be happening between now and mid-June. We start off with the long Memorial Day holiday weekend coming up. It's the unofficial start to summer and the neighborhood will be filled with the smell of barbeques and the sounds of outdoor fun. Keep BBQ and pool safety in mind while you're enjoying yourself.

Graduation Parade

Our Rossmoor Graduation Parade for the Class of 2023 is on Saturday, June 3rd. The brief parade program kicks off at 11:00 and the vehicles will be in Rossmoor before 11:30 and should begin to arrive at Rush Park for the Rossmoor Family Festival shortly after noon.

Spectators & Cheering Squads: The best place to see the parade is in front of your house if you are lucky enough to have the parade go by (see the map), at Rossmoor Park or at any of our Rossmoor elementary schools.

Garden Grove Strawberry Festival

The Garden Grove Strawberry Festival kicked off yesterday and is getting RAVE reviews! We expect the rest of the events this weekend will be equally noteworthy. Shoutout to Rossmoor's First District Supervisor Andrew Do and his wife, Judge Cheri Pham at the parade -- lookin' good!

Did You See This?

It appears that the weekly updates from our OCSD reflect an increase in reports of suspicious persons/vehicles. This is actually a good thing. 
 
Some of this might be due to increased awareness by our patrolling deputies, yet we know for sure that our residents are becoming more vigilant. The best defense is ALWAYS a good offense. Thanks for keeping your
eyes open for things that "just don't look right." - If you see something, say something!
It might be nothing.....then again....
We have over 10,000 pairs of eyes in Rossmoor and a few less sets than that, of sworn deputies patrolling.

How Can We Live Better Survey

 
 
People often say that individual citizens can't (and don't) make a difference. We've also heard "nobody told me." These surveys are the starting point for the public hearings on most of the issues that concern our quality of life issues, and how our representatives aim to provide the services. Your opinions can and do matter, so when these surveys are offered to us - please respond.

Now is another chance -- SCAG, which is the regional consortium of cities in Southern CA wants to know what you think. Surveys matter, because SCAG sets the directions and actions of governments in Southern CA - in other words - the
"ground floor" invitation that many have been asking for (and in some cases, demanding).

If you don't like the way things are....don't wait and merely REACT, after-the-fact. Please, it is both your right and responsibility to care about and steward our futures, in CA.

This survey won't take much time to do, yet the small investment in time spent says "I care" and "it's important."

Shakespeare Is Back at Rush Park!

The 2023 season of Shakespeare By The Sea performances is almost ready to go. SBTS will visit Rush Park in Rossmoor on Saturday July 15th (Hamlet) and Sunday, July 16th (Twelfth Night) with wonderful live, in person performances. There is no admission charge, though the acting troupe gladly accepts donations to help cover the costs of the production. Mark your calendar for July 15 & 16 at Rush Park and plan on attending. Your entire family will thank you.
