Hey,

Our weather for the next week should be very much like it has been for the past week. Maybe a degree or three warmer edging up to the 70 degree mark. Perfect weather for graduation activities: cool enough to enjoy, sunny and bright enough to get good photos in the afternoons. Good times for the Rossmoor area.

Graduation Celebration Photos

While our Rossmoor Graduation Parade for the Class of 2023 is on Saturday, June 3rd and we know there are graduation parties and events happening all this week and the following week.

We'd like you to share your photos with us so we can share them with the community and celebrate their accomplishments with you. Our community has always been very supportive of our schools and this is the culmination of more than 12 years of hard work and effort for the Class of 2023. Please share your images here.

Spectators & Cheering Squads: The best place to see the parade is in front of your house if you are lucky enough to have the parade go by (see the map), at Rossmoor Park or at any of our Rossmoor elementary schools.

And of course we also want to invite you to take photos and videos of the parade itself and share them as well. Please share your videos & images here.

With Orange County approving funding to this program, it means that more doors can open, where there is already an obvious need for support services.

How Can We Live Better Survey

 
 
People often say that individual citizens can't (and don't) make a difference. We've also heard "nobody told me." These surveys are the starting point for the public hearings on most of the issues that concern our quality of life issues, and how our representatives aim to provide the services. Your opinions can and do matter, so when these surveys are offered to us - please respond.

Now is another chance -- SCAG, which is the regional consortium of cities in Southern CA wants to know what you think. Surveys matter, because SCAG sets the directions and actions of governments in Southern CA - in other words - the
"ground floor" invitation that many have been asking for (and in some cases, demanding).

If you don't like the way things are....don't wait and merely REACT, after-the-fact. Please, it is both your right and responsibility to care about and steward our futures, in CA.

This survey won't take much time to do, yet the small investment in time spent says "I care" and "it's important."

Shakespeare Is Back at Rush Park!

The 2023 season of Shakespeare By The Sea performances is almost ready to go. SBTS will visit Rush Park in Rossmoor on Saturday July 15th (Hamlet) and Sunday, July 16th (Twelfth Night) with wonderful live, in person performances. There is no admission charge, though the acting troupe gladly accepts donations to help cover the costs of the production. Mark your calendar for July 15 & 16 at Rush Park and plan on attending. Your entire family will thank you.

Water Safety Awareness Class

Rossmoor's own Lindsey Ludwig has organized a Water Safety Awareness class on Saturday June 10th from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Rush Park Auditorium.

In this packet one hour session, you will hear about beach safety from Seal Beach Marine Safety, home water safety from our OC Fire Authority, and learn some quick tips on CPR. Plus, you will have some CPR practice time (on CPR practice dummies, so you don't need to tie your kids down), and grab a slice of free pizza. It's a great opportunity to stop by and learn a few things to keep your family safe. Hope to see you there!
