As our weather begins to cool, today is a great day to take a moment to reflect on the 9/11 terror attacks that literally changed our world. Likely, one of the most impactful quotes for reflection came from Sandy Dahl who was the wife for Flight 93 pilot Jason Dahl when she said

"If we learn nothing else from this, we learn that life is short and there is not time for hate."

We invite you to take that moment right now and consider what this statement means to you as we commemorate the 22nd anniversary of the attacks.

Create Mosquito Breeding Grounds - Unfortunately, it's true. It's time once again to check your yard for places that collect water and can become breeding ground for those irritating blood suckers. Today is the time to go inspect your yard.

Here's the thing, mosquitoes typically are born and die within a 100 yard area. If there are mosquitoes in your backyard, it's pretty sure to be your yard or one of your neighbor's yards that is breeding them. Start at your house. You have complete control there. Kids Night Out - Friday September 15th

The Youth Center is back with their monthly Kids Night Out events. These events are a great way for parents (or grandparents) to give their kids an evening of fun and entertainment at The Youth Center, while getting some time for themselves. 2nd Annual Elevate Women’s Conference

Join the City of Los Alamitos for their 2^nd annual “Elevate” Women’s Conference on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Los Alamitos Community Center.

Are You Breeding Mosquitoes?

The OC Mosquito & Vector Control District -- another of the Special Districts that serves Rossmoor and our surrounding communities, has some great ways to protect our pets and family.

Specifically mosquitos can carry West Nile Disease. Partnering with the County, we are all better off. We really like the comprehensive DIY checklist from them, that helps us self-audit our homes. Be a good neighbor, check your place for mosquito growing grounds.
