Hey, A few weeks back we talked about the weather cooling down for the fall and the chance that "summer" wasn't completely done with us as yet. Well, that looks like that thought is coming true.
This weekend will be cooler and damp (some may even call what s forecast to happen on Saturday "rain" but really it should be about enough to mess up your windshield), heading into next week we could be back into the mid and upper 80s. Our Rossmoor Farmers Market will likely benefit the most as that looks like Thursday will be the warmest day next week. Pacific AirShow This
Weekend As you have heard, our usual "sneak peak" of the Huntington Beach Pacific Air Show over the skies of Rossmoor is in full effect, as fighter jets depart JFTB. What an awesome place to live. Last year, was especially memorable for the RHA on the day before the
Airshow. We were on campus at Hopkinson lEmentary (go Huskies!) hosting one of our annual teacher/staff appreciation lunches. Suddenly we heard squeals of excitement from the students who were enjoying their lunches outside, at the picnic tables. We jumped up from our stations in the faculty lunchroom, just in time to join the students outside and watch the jets flying in formation across
our sky. We don't really know which was louder - our kids or the jets.

E-Bike Information & Updates |
Our Sheriff's Department along with the Orange County Transit Authority (OCTA) want to remind parents that there are a lot of great resources available to find out more about e-bikes and how to safely operate them. The OCTA
recently published a new streamlined resource page to find out more about e-bikes. It's a great summary for all riders and drivers. It's worth goin there to watch the adventures of Goodboy Noah. Here's the link

Since CSD meetings seem to be moving around erratically of late, we will try our best to keep the information current in our media channels, should residents wish to attend. Here's the updated Adhoc Website Committee date and time. Additional information is available on the CSD website
Learning simple things to do in an emergency is the easiest way to be prepared. Take a moment to discover the best ways to use your cell phones in an emergency. According to a FEMA 2021 national poll , while 92 percent of respondents were aware of the importance of preparedness, only 44 percent
claimed to be prepared. Let's beat the averages and have Our
Rossmoor close in on being 100% prepared!

Happy Fall! With the first day of fall this past Saturday, September 23rd, we thought it would be fun (and informative) to let
you know that your fall leaves belong in the GREEN lid, organics container where they will be turned to compost. Leaves are a rich source of organic matter for your soil! Stay tuned for more What Goes Where posts! This is a big win all around. Keeping leaves off the sidewalks and out of the gutters allows our storm channels to run freely. No ponding water...no mosquitos breeding. REMEMBER: leaves, branches, sticks & twigs go in your
green lid organic container.

If you have questions, comments, or suggestions, please contact OC Public Works here through their OC eServices Portal, then click on Service Requests & Complaints and then select Traffic Issues UPDATE: On Monday, October 16th, OC Public Works Senior Civil Engineer Wei Zhu will return to Rossmoor to

Orange County Older Adults Needs Assessment
The County office on Aging continues to work proactively on an emerging need - our senior population. It is no secret that the largest segment of our population, the last of baby boomers are well over 55, and the county is preparing for their physical and mental yearly needs and general quality of life. In fact, about 1/3 of Rossmoor's current population are seniors, and census projections expect this percentage to grow over the next 10 years. That's not the number of seniors, it's the percentage of seniors! Please help the County, as they develop long range plans to help meet our needs. The survey will only take a few minutes of your
time. You can take the survey here. And then please share the link with your friends and neighbors These surveys do more than make suggestions. They guide the county as they
seek to secure grants and funding for the services that we deem important. As the saying goes, "If the people don't care, the money isn't there." Which we all know is simply not true -- WE DO CARE, AND THE MONEY CAN BE GRANTED. Help the county help us.
Our Rossmoor. A great place to live since 1957
