Community Coffee - This Friday @10
|
|
Rossmoor's First District Supervisor, Andrew Do has been sending his office staff into his district's local communities to meet with constituents, all year. These coffee meetups are open to the public, and the First
District invites and encourages your participation. To date, they have held approximately 40 of these small gatherings, and have several more scheduled. Orange County covers 790 square miles, and the five districts are rather large (each supervisor represents approximately 600,000 people). These coffees are another of
example of Supervisor Do's and his staff's many commitments of service to us. The gatherings are small and intimate, providing opportunities to meet with them and members of our county agencies. There is no better way to learn first hand, how our government works. Direct and open conversations with them (and involved community members) are priceless - and all it takes is a little of our time. The RHA and various OurRossmoor neighbors attend these whenever possible, to connect with our representative, to share
ideas and seek ways of improving our relationships and services.

We're Not an HOA, We're an RHA! |
Every once in a while we like to remind the new people to our community (insiders already know.) The Rossmoor Homeowners Association (RHA) is a VOLUNTEER community group. That's right, NOBODY on the RHA board, or any of our many committees
is on salary or gets paid - including our web team and communications network. We're an RHA, not an HOA. One community, one word: HOMEOWNERS ...not HOME OWNERS. Seriously folks, if we were an HOA, do you think our dues would be only $40 a YEAR? And you could join or not? Talk with your friends who have
an HOA. Oh and that $40, that's the dues per household, not per individual, per year. Community volunteers, supported by our members, generous sponsors and partners (not your tax dollars) is what provides all the great things that are going on in the RHA, and makes everything we enjoy, happen.

Fentanyl Is Forever Media Campaign |
OC Health Care Agency is launching a Fentanyl is Forever media campaign. Our youth are particularly at risk. Please take note: Fentanyl-related deaths, not Fentanyl overdose is the issue. A quantity of fentanyl the size of two grains of salt is enough to kill. We cannot over-stress the urgency of this situation. Everyone needs to have the facts, in order to protect our communities - and all children. More information here And while it's a little early, the OCSD is holding a Town Hall on the Fentanyl Crisis on Thursday, November 16th at the Rush Park Auditorium from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Stop by the Rossmoor Certified Farmers Market for dinner and then stop in to find out more about fentanyl, the signs and symptoms and how to protect your family.

No, it's not Christmas yet, but everyone knows that The Youth Center has THE FRESHEST, most beautiful Christmas trees every year. Mark your calendars - they open the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend -- and yes, the trees have always stayed fresh thru the New Year's celebrations. Their tree lot, in Ganahl's parking lot is soooooo convenient. Warning: The Youth Center Tree Lot
is famous for selling out well before December 15th....
This Saturday from 10 to 2 the OC Sheriff’s Department and Seal Beach Police Department are hosting a recycling event Saturday, Oct. 28 in commemoration of the DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, and residents are encouraged to stop by and dispose of their unused
