Hi,

Well that was fun.😀 Tropical Storm Hilary dropped about 1.5 inches of rain on us here in Rossmoor and we had wind gusts up to about 30 mph. Though they came from more of a southernly direction than our typical Santa Ana winds, we were lucky that the storm passed to the east of us. And of course we had a little bit of a shaker tossed in for good measure. The ~5.0 quake, if you didn't feel it, was centered in Ojai up in Ventura County. 

One note. Over the weekend we posted a number of informational updates regarding the storm and best practices. If you missed them, you may want to check out our Engagement Group on Facebook and our Instagram page. We post more timely information there frequently. 

So, a interesting Sunday and for the most part, Rossmoor is no worse for the wear. On to the week ahead. Schools are in, street sweeping is happening for the odd sides of the streets, and of course there's our regular events.

Rossmoor Farmers Market Thursday!

You know the deal - every Thursday from 4 to 7 at Rush Park the Rossmoor Certified Farmers Market takes place. It's a great place to grab dinner or some wonderful summer produce, meet some friends and relax a bit. Call it your pre-weekend celebration. It's a fun grab and go marketplace - so will we see you there Thursday afternoon?

As school starts in full force, it's easy to forget how much our schools depend on the great work their PTAs and Friends Of do to support the programs and opportunities our kids are enriched by and enjoy. 

The RHA partners with the PTAs to help let you know how you can help support our schools.

We call this program HUGS for Our Schools. It's super simple. The PTAs from our schools let us know when they are having "Dine For Dollars" nights or other opportunities that you can help them raise money for the school programs and we put those events on our HUGS page. This way, when you want to go out for a lunch or dinner (depending on the restaurant), you can look in one place to find out which schools are hosting fund raising events.

It's a win for you (one place to look), our schools (they get a percentage of the money you spend), and our local restaurants.
