Now that Hilary is gone, we are back to our summer heatwave. We should be in the upper 80s over the weekend and may touch the low 90s. That's just hot!
It does make for great events like our Rossmoor Certified Farmers Market. We are lucky to have a "certified" market here in Rossmoor. Stop by on Thursday and pick up some fresh produce. It will do your body good!
Are You Breeding Mosquitoes?
The OC Mosquito & Vector Control District -- another of the Special Districts that serves Rossmoor and our surrounding communities, has some great ways to protect our pets and family.
Specifically mosquitos can carry West Nile Disease. Partnering with the
County, we are all better off. We really like the comprehensive DIY checklist from them, that helps us self-audit our homes. Be a good neighbor, check your place for mosquito growing grounds.

Project HUGS - For our Schools!
On Monday, August 28th, dine in, pick up, or take out some of the delicious food from Lucille's Smokehouse in the Long Beach Towne Center (605 at Carson) - mention Project Leap or grab a flyer and Project Leap will get 20% for Lee school.
As school starts in full force, it's easy to forget how much our schools depend on the great work their PTAs and Friends Of do to support the programs and opportunities our kids are enriched by and enjoy.
The RHA partners with the PTAs to help let you know how you can help support our
schools.
We call this program HUGS for Our Schools. It's super simple. The PTAs from our schools let us know when they are having "Dine For Dollars" nights or other opportunities that you can help them raise money for the school programs and we put those events on our HUGS
page. This way, when you want to go out for a lunch or dinner (depending on the restaurant), you can look in one place to find out which schools are hosting fund raising events.
It's a win for you (one place to look), our schools (they get a percentage of the money you spend), and our local restaurants.
