Keep Rossmoor Safe - Slow your roll to 25 MPH
Hi ,
It's not quite winter weather here in Rossmoor, and still it's pretty nice. We should have a few upper 70s days coming up this week, but for the
most part we will see low 70s degree days with mostly sunny skies. Pretty much perfect for all the decorating that is going on around the neighborhood.
And there are some amazing house decorations already in place. As nominations come streaming in, make sure that you enter your favorites (including you own home) so that all the best houses get on our now famous Rossmoor HotSpot map. The map will be available by December 19th with the
entry deadline of December 15th and judging on Saturday the 16th. Earlier entries get more chances to win some of the terrific prizes we will start drawing for next Saturday (12/9) at the Rossmoor Winter Festival.
This week has the first Monday and Tuesday of December in it, so the sweepers will be here. And it's just in time to clean up all the leaves and debris that the recent wind has dumpped into our streets. IT's time to get cleaned up.
Please, remove your vehicles from in front of ODD addresses on Monday and EVEN addresses on
Tuesday to help clean up the area and keep our storm drains clear for the promised rains later in the month.
Thanks!
Lights Nomination Contest
Our annual Rossmoor Christmas Lights Celebration is on!
It looks like this year's decoration will be pretty amazing. And that's why we ask everyone to nominate homes for our Lights Celebration! Each entry gets you an opportunity to win a prize too! Get the details here.
The Youth Center Trees Are Amazing!
The Youth Center Tree Lot is an amazing place. The energy and the scents make it feel like the holiday just walking in. Imagine you're in a pine forest surrounded by the most fragrant trees and joy-filled people. That's the Youth Center Tree Lot at Ganahl's in Los Alamitos. Just go there for the experience. Of course if you haven't yet picked out your tree, it's right
there. Are you looking for a 3-4 foot table top tree? Indeed, just as your walk through entrance. How about a 5-6 foot or 6-7 foot noble fur? Yep, they have them - at least for now. Trees are moving fast, just like the wreaths and garland. These are the very freshest trees. You can tell by following your nose.
Stop by today, or any day this week for your best selection. They are open until 9:00 each night. Oh, and get some holiday raffle tickets on your way out for your chance at over $7,000 in prizes - and you are supporting our local youth in the process - a real win-win.
$2.16 Billion Project Opens On Time & On Budget
The Dedication for the I-405 Project was a terrific celebration to the largest highway expansion project in California history. One of the most remarkable accomplishments is that the 20 year project came in on time AND within budget. The OCTA Directors including our current Supervisor Andrew Do and our immediate past
Supervisor Katrina Foley along with the supporting OCTA & CalTrans staff are to be commended. The faster and safer I-405 travel has arrived. More info and photos here
Did you see this....?
The holidays by themselves, can be stressful enough. Casa Youth Shelter is another excellent, skilled resource. Passing it on, just in case any of the youth in our communities are at-risk and vulnerable right now. They have a lot of resources, standing by to help.
