It's Farmers Market time. Come down to Rush Park between 4 and 7 and visit the Rossmoor Certified Farmers Market (RCFM). Terrific food and fresh fruits & veggies help fill the spaces at the RCFM After you've stopped by the RCFM, come join us at Bethlehem Lutheran Church (Wallingsford & Katella) for our first Rossmoor Community Conversation event starting at 7:00 p.m...
Community Conversations - Fentanyl & Your Family We would LOVE our community to show up in force! Three great
reasons: - It's our inaugural Community Conversations event - we have some great ones planned, after this one, too.
- Hearing about the dangers of fentanyl from a social perspective, in addition to medical and legal.
- SOCIAL! Our Community Engagement Coordinator,
Mary Ann Remnet, so seldom makes it to the events in Rossmoor, and when she does, she's normally behind the behind the camera sharing the happenings with our community, will be there. She said this:
I really want to meet and share with all of you -- Our upcoming programming is unbelievable! And the topics are all crowd-sourced (hint-hint). Participate in the process by
sharing your thoughts.
Della from the OC HealthCare Agency has an insightful and very informative presentation planned for our community and will have naloxone (Narcan) available for you to take home of you'd like.
Rossmoor Community Conversations are driven by community requests. If there's a community
relevant topic that you'd like to hear more about, please let us know. We will do what we can to find a subject matter expert to share in a future Community Conversation. In
June, we will have a presentation from UCI MIND on Alzheimer's and other types of dementia, the importance of early testing and how you can limit the chances of dementia affecting you or your family. Save the date: Thursday, June 27th from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Congratulations Emeline Noda! |
Congratulations, Emeline! #OurRossmoor salutes you. We always enjoy and appreciate when excellence is publicly recognized. You earn this every day, with everything you (and your awesome team - including RHA Student Board Member Katrina Jeang) do. Thanks for being GREAT neighbors and partners with our community.

HUGS - Last Chance to Support - Thursday!
On Thursday, May 23rd the delicious and generous Lucille's BBQ (6257 E. 2nd Street) is donating back 20% of Dine-In, Takeout & Pick up orders to support a great cause -- Friends of Hopkinson! On behalf of Friends of Hopkinson you’re invited to join us and eat out, not only in support of the organization, but to show one of your Long Beach restaurants some love too! We ask that you RSVP here (even if you’re not completely sure) so Lucille's BBQ knows roughly how many orders to expect & so you have access to all the event details. And on your way home from dinner you can stop by the Community Conversation on The Hidden Dangers of Fentanyl for Families at 7:00 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Get
the details here.
Got old paint, batteries, or electronics lying around? Don't toss them! Dispose of Household Hazardous Waste for FREE at Orange County's Collection Centers. Remember about this helpful resource for getting rid of hazardous waste items. Also, a reminder that if you ever need some cleaning supplies, and don't want to spend money on them -- free for the taking, partial bottles of various things are there. Leave some, take some. Sharing for Reuse by someone else helps us, helps
your pocketbook and helps the environment by reducing what's in use. More info here

May Is OC Bike Month
|
|
There are some really incredible public events for OC Bike month. For starters, bookmark this post, and commit to taking ONE bike ride during the month of May
and enter for an opportunity to win an Aventon E-bike! #OurRossmoor's suggestion for a fun ride?: Join Bikerossmoor.org for their
next MoonPie ride from Rush Park to Polly's Pies on Thursday, May 23rd at 8:00pm. Monthly full moon rides move at a relaxing pace and are family friendly ways to get (or keep) your bodies moving. Also, click thru this link, to both enter the contest and find the upcoming events
and bike safety resources which include a link to register for the OC Transit Authority's virtual safety course, delivered via zoom. It's perfect for those who can't make it to in-person happenings, or who are just looking for a refresher.

Another Certification Completed! Lee Leopards grow lifelong heroes! So proud to have #OurRossmoor schools that nurture excellence and exude lifelong learning. In our community, we don't spend time in our schools - we invest in them - the classes, the buildings, the activities, and especially, the students and families. It shows. Thank you Ms. Nelson for being another shining star and continuing to lead the way. _________________________ Congrats to Ms. Nelson who recently finished another certification! Did you know she was a Leo herself when she was in elementary school! Once a Leo always a Leo! More here.
Free CA State Parks Pass!
The Library Parks passes are always hot items to score at our #OCPL
County libraries. Here's how we #OurRossmoor insiders handle the demand. Go online to OCPL, and if you have a library card, look up the passes and request one online. It will likely have a waitlist that is weeks, if not months long (we told you they are popular.) If you don't have a card, getting one of those is pretty EZ, too. Here's the fun part! When
you least expect it, an email will arrive letting you know it's your turn to pick one up. Plan your unplanned day trip - parking fees, courtesy of our OC. Kids love surprise excursions.
Our Rossmoor. A great place to live since 1957
