It looks like our weather will be nice for the next week. Partly cloudy skies for the most pat and temperatures in the low 70s for the week. Sweeping Monday & Tuesday It must be the first Monday & Tuesday of the month - and you know what that means. That's right street sweeping will occur. Please move your vehicles from the ODD sides of the street on Monday and the EVEN side of the street on Tuesday. Our beaches will thank you!
Even though it's past May The FOUTH (be with you) or "Star Wars Day" as it has been unofficially been named, we could not resist opportunity to remind you to avoid plastic bottles and disposable cups when you can. Reusable cups save the environment and in the long run save you money. Click here for more reminders from CalRecycle

Flea-Borne Typhus Detected in Rossmoor
At the end of April, OC Vector Control posted the above warning in Rossmoor. Thanks OC Vector for doing a great job! This public notification is required whenever there is a suspicion of disease (it takes time to
test and confirm), so letting the immediate vicinity know, alerts everyone, so that we can help stop anything before it starts (much like preventing mosquito infestation to prevent West Nile virus, or watching for ticks, to prevent Lyme disease. The good news is that OC Vector has not seen anything of concern recently and are continually monitoring the situation. Click here for More on typhus, what to look for and how to protect your family.
Here's why we talk about recycling, trash, and compost as much as we do. It's more than a mandate to be met, it's a way of working together. We've heard that: - "Sorting our food scraps is a
pain."
- "I'm not going to garden, so I'm not going to need compost."
- "I don't have a lot, it won't matter."
But here's the truth: - Sorting might mean you change what you do, but if it's not sorted, we risk contaminating the
materials that can be recycled into compost at our facilities.
- As you can see in this video, our CA farmers are using the compost that is made from our
waste.
Yes, it's the same compost that #OCWR and CR&R (or another
provider, if you aren't in Rossmoor) makes available to us FOR FREE, if you do want it. It's available to us. This helps keep the cost of produce down, and makes it more nutritious where it's grown, and provides the same for us, when we choose to do back (or front) yard food gardening.
It may not matter, but WE matter. #SustainRossmoor It's good for the earth. Let #OurRossmoor know if you
still want or need a countertop kitchen scraps container. Just reply to this email.
Our Rossmoor. A great place to live since 1957
