Well it's been a hot weekend, at least for us here in Rossmoor. One more 90 degrees day on Monday and then we should be back into the mid-80s for the rest of the week and into the weekend. Which is really pretty great as next Saturday, is the August Rossmoor Family Festival at Rush Park kicking off at about 3:00 p.m. Activities and rides for the kids all afternoon and The Trip will highlight the day starting about 6:00 Bring your picnic dinner or grab some food from one of the many food trucks parked on the grass at the west end of the park. It will be a great day. Come stop by the Our Rossmoor
booth with the white top, say HI! Plus, you never know what is available at our booth.
Once again, Nia Hartman & Bike Rossmoor will be providing free bike valet service so you don't have to worry about your finding a place to lock your bike or it being stolen while you are enjoying the day at the park. Come join the fun.
Which Homes Are Worthy To Be In The Holiday Tour?
Here's your chance to request your favorite house be added to the Rossmoor Woman's Club (RWC) annual Holiday Home Tour this December! The RWC thought it would be fun to see what the community has in mind Nominate your favorite house - even if it's yours. And the RWC will see if the owners will participate. Can't hurt to ask, right? And remember, this isn't just for Christmas. In Rossmoor we celebrate all the winter holidays, so keep that in mind. Any specific questions can be answered by emailing Sue Goldberg (ssgoldberg4@gmail.com)
What Does My $40 Membership Get Me?
After being asked once again what does my $40 dues get me each year, the RHA Community Coordinator, Mary Ann Remnet, shared what her $40 annual membership gives her in a recent post. Here's an excerpt and you can read the full response here. I often get asked this question: “what do I get, for the $40 I give the RHA for my membership
dues?” Good question, and for each person, the answer is different. As #OurRossmoor‘s Community Engagement Coordinator, here’s what I get – it’s not what I get, but rather it is what this community gives me. The RHA doesn’t claim to be “the magic” – our non-profit community provides a place where
our residents can share their own magic – with a value that says “when we come together, something really, really, special happens.” And it does. And we are uniquely special- no doubt. The RHA helps me celebrate this every…single….day. For over 65 years, the RHA has been reminding our community members and the communities around us, that Rossmoor values are about much more than the sales prices of our homes. When I hear someone say, “ I specifically looked for a home in Rossmoor, and we chose to be here” I smile.

CA's Fire Season Is No Joke! California’s fire season is no joke. Since June, more than 500,000 (yep, that's a half million) acres in just California have been scorched, including hundreds of homes. The RedCrossSoCal is always ready to welcome and train volunteers to help during these kinds of disasters. Volunteering isn’t just about crisis response or blood drives, though —it’s also a chance to build and share skills. The positions are many, including helping in shelters, individual disaster care (mental health, spiritual care, etc.), delivery of emergency supplies, forklift driving, warehouse work, virtual organization and planning work, GIS mapping and the list goes
on. With all the virtual and onsite disaster relief opportunities, there’s something for everyone. And if you would rather volunteer to help recruit volunteers, become a blood drive greater, support one of the area offices, or lend a hand with fundraising, there’s a role for you. Consider volunteering and make a real difference in someone's life!
