Our very nice weather continues with highs in the middle 70s for the next week. So glad that we are not in the path of Milton like mid-Florida is. Yikes that's one powerful storm!

October Quarterly Shredding Event..... 10/26 

Our quarterly document shredding event will be Saturday, October 26th at Lee School here in Rossmoor. The event will run from 8:00 a.m. to noon or when the shredding truck is full. Start collecting those papers and we will see you on Saturday, October 26th! Additional details here

October Street Sweeping Delay.... 

We want to thank whoever of y’all for taking the initiative to “see something, say something” and contacted Rossmoor’s Community Service District via the Street Sweeping Observation Link about their streets being missed by the sweepers this past Monday (10/7/2024) which was the first Monday of the month.

This announcement was sent out yesterday (10/8) morning by the Rossmoor CSD (who manages the street sweeping contract) announcing another anomaly to street sweeping. As always, we will do our best to remind everyone, so pass on this info to your neighbors who might not be in our FB group or online at all.

First and foremost, swept streets keep toxins out of our storm channels, and neighborly, nobody likes tickets for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Secondly, our tax dollars go to pay for the sweeping each month. Why waste our money by blocking the sweeper’s path with our vehicles? Come’on Rossmoor, we’ve got this (and a whole “other side” of the street to park on)

Hopefully, the Rossmoor CSD has worked out their scheduling conflicts with SCA (our sweeping company), and we can get back to normal schedules, that are less confusing (and more enforceable for those who need a gentle nudge).

Your ballot has likely already arrived! 

Now is your time to vote and voice your opinions.

Please make sure that you take the time to vote.  Early is a good time to vote because there's less chance that you will forget to vote on or before November 5th. So, once that ballot arrives, just go ahead and fill it out. Then you can mail it back to the county or drop it off in one of the many ballot drop boxes throughout the county. There one directly in front of the Los Alamitos Recreation Building at 10911 Oak Street. It's open 24/7 between now and the election on 11/5/2024.

Candidate Night Forum

The RHA's Meet Your Candidates Forum was a great evening with more than 50 residents coming out to meet and hear the candidates share their thoughts on various questions submitted by Rossmoor residents. The recording of the full event and each segment of the event are now available here on the RHA website. We also have posted the responses to the written questions we sent to each candidate. 

There's been some discussion about the RHA's position on candidates, and as always, the RHA does not endorse or recommend any candidate for any position. This has been our long standing policy and it has not changed. We are and remain candidate neutral. 

We do encourage everyone who is registered to vote to send in or drop off their ballot after it arrives this week.

Welcome Back Grab 'n Go Lunches

Our second Grab 'n Go lunch was at Rossmoor School this past Friday and it was a ton of fun. We served up over 80 Nick's Deli sandwiches to the teachers and staff as a way to recognize the time, effort and love they provide the student who attend our schools. Fear not, we will be heading to both Hopkinson and Weaver in the coming weeks, to appreciate them too.

Thanks to Community Engagement Coordinator Mary Ann Remnet, District Trustee Chris Forehan, and RHA President Art Remnet for welcoming the teachers and staff to the lunch and to Rossmoor Elementary Principal Amy Coltey for always being there to support her students, teachers and staff.

October’s Community Conversation

Our planned October Community Conversation will be with a team from the Orange County Planning Department to discuss the County's general plan and what impacts we might expect to see in Rossmoor. 

Plan to join us on Thursday, October 17, at 7:00 p.m. in the friendly confines of Bethlehem Lutheran Church at the corner of Katella and Wallingsford here in Rossmoor.
