Last week we mentioned the street sweeper "scheduling conflict" and that the Rossmoor CSD has worked with the sweeper company to do a "make up" sweep tomorrow (Monday, 10/14). This will make this week very much like a "regular" sweeping week as the sweepers will be here both Monday (ODD Addresses) and Tuesday (EVEN addresses) this week. Bottom line: please move your vehicles to the "other" side of the street so the sweepers can do their thing on both Monday and Tuesday this week. Appreciate you helping to keep Rossmoor's streets clean.
Early School Dismissal This Week
Early school dismissals for Parent Conferences will alter normal patterns around our schools this Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and next Monday (10/21). Please use extra caution, watching for students, bicycles, and noon-time traffic congestion. We advise using
alternate roads, if you don't need to be by the schools.
Welcome Back Grab 'n Go Lunches - Hopkinson
Our third of four Rossmoor Welcome Back Grab 'n Go Lunches for teachers and staff was at Hopkinson. Principal Jason Farvour and his team welcomed us as we brought in lunch from Nick's Deli. The teachers and staff were very applicative and raved about the sandwiches
from Nick's. This week the "Delivery Team" was made up of Chris Forehan, Art Remnet, Frank Facey and not pictured, Mary Ann Remnet. Some
things need to be experienced, to believe. Pictures don't even tell half the story. Have we mentioned lately how INCREDIBLE our schools are.
Taste For Los Al - Good Times
So much fun, and so easy. Sharing the tastes from the best of the best of our eating establishments -- restaurants and caterers who have such giving hearts for our schools and students every day was especially meaningful, knowing that the event benefits the clubs and groups who invest in our students. Full
circle. There were so many tempting items from a wide variety of establishments. The Taste Team did an amazing job! And a HUGE Thank You to the restaurants the help to make this event so very successful. And all we
had to do was to keep the water stocked! We thought 400 bottles would do the trick. Nope, they were gone before 8:00 - the photo below was the table at 7:45 - all gone in less than two hours.
Looks like next year we'll have to double down and see if we can keep up! Thanks to everyone for showing up, coming together, supporting our high school clubs and programs, and mostly having fun!

Your ballot has likely already arrived- if not, reach out to the good people at OCVote.gov and ask
why.
Now is your time to vote and voice your opinions. Please make sure that you take the time to vote. Early is a good time to vote because there's less chance that you will forget to vote on or before November 5th. So, once that ballot arrives, just go ahead and fill it out.
Then you can mail it back to the county or drop it off in one of the many ballot drop boxes throughout the county. There one directly in front of the Los Alamitos Recreation Building at 10911 Oak Street. It's open 24/7 between now and the election on 11/5/2024. Candidate Night Forum
The RHA's Meet Your Candidates Forum was a great evening with more than 50 residents coming out to meet and hear the candidates share their thoughts on various questions submitted by Rossmoor residents. The recording of the full event and each segment of the event are now available here on the RHA website. We also have posted the responses to the written questions we sent to each candidate. There's been some discussion about the RHA's position on candidates, and as always, the RHA does not endorse or recommend any candidate for any position. This has been our long standing policy and it has not changed. We are and remain candidate neutral. We do encourage everyone who is registered to vote to send in or drop off their ballot after it arrives this week.

Thank you, Tanya Doby, not only for representing our neighbors but also for your service on the OC Library Advisory Board. Most importantly, thank you for sharing the information you receive with all of us. We’ve been eager for updates. We are currently in the exciting stage of moving back in and reshelving books—quite a big task for a library of this size. The contractor is also working on a few remaining punch list items. We are aiming for a grand reopening within the next month or so and cannot wait for you to see the beautifully enhanced space!
There are
many ways to stay informed about what’s happening around us. Some step into elected roles, others volunteer on boards, and some take on government jobs within our community. And sometimes, it’s as simple as being curious—listening, learning, and sharing with those who might benefit. It takes more than just browsing the internet or following social media, though. By the time
something reaches social media, a lot has already happened, involving many dedicated people. The tip of the iceberg is just a start—understanding what lies beneath reveals a much bigger picture that can expand our understanding. It's where the fun begins.
