With just one more day before we are into March, it  looks like we are settling back into the more "winter" 60s for the next week, we will see mostly cloudy days with some sun popping through now and again. Much more of a normal for this time of year pattern. This weekend will be great for gardening and getting outdoors.  Oh, and Saturday morning is Race on the Base too. Good news! The City of Los Alamitos is rolling out the red carpet for artists of all ages and styles at their annual Art Exhibition. This is your chance to step into the spotlight with your artwork on March 14th and 15th at the newly opened City of Los Alamitos Community Center (10911 Oak Street, Los Al).

Rossmoor Farmers Market - Thursday 4-7

On Thursday the Rossmoor Certified Farmers Market will be in Rush Park from 4:00 to 7:00. Produce and food vendors (like yummy organic honey) along with craft and care merchants will be there to provide samples and information about their products. Please come check out the goods either as a "whistle stop" or stay a while and visit with your neighbors. It's good either way.

Shakespeare at Rush - End of June

Thanks in great part from your emails and calls, our Community Services Distinct has booked Shakespeare By the Sea to perform in Rush Park  this summer!!

Here's what we will get to see at Rush Park this summer:

• Julius Caesar, Directed by Stephanie Coltrin - (6/28)
   Loyalties are tested in Shakespeare’s exploration of the definition of honor, the agony of decision and the cost of crossing to the point of no return.
   
• As You Like It, Directed by Suzanne Dean - (6/29)
   Banished from home, Rosalind flees to the Forest of Arden with friends, discovering freedom, love and her truest self in Shakespeare’s uplifting comedy of transformation and new beginnings.

Thanks to everyone who spoke up and said, hey we'd like to continue the tradition of  having Shakespeare By The Sea, perform Shakespeare at Rush Park for free. And thanks to the District for inking the deal so that SBTS can perform at Rush.

With the revival of vintage fashion, like 2000s whale tail low-rise jeans with rhinestones and 1990s baggy clothing, it was predicted that the 2010s ‘trashy punk’ look might make a comeback. However, no one could have predicted that skinny jeans, a classic yet unpractical pant, would resurge.

For decades, jeans have fluctuated in and out of style due to their limited comfort. Despite the rising trend of athleisure in the early 2000s, skinny jeans were revered for their effortless style and fashion. During the end of the 2010s, these skinny jeans began to fade out of trends in favor of more comfortable baggy jeans.
