With the holidays past us and school starting up again on Monday, it's time to settle back into our typical winter routines. 

And of course, here in Rossmoor, that means street sweeping  on the first and third Mondays (odd sides) and Tuesday (even sides). 

That's true this next week (the first Monday/Tuesday) and in two weeks (the third Monday/Tuesday). It's super simple - move your vehicles to the non-swept side of the street for the day to help clean our streets and keep the storm channels free of dirt and debris. Thanks for your help.

The weather for the rest of the first full week of 2025 looks like it will be mostly sunny with highs in the low 70's - about perfect. Get out and enjoy Rossmoor!

2025 RHA Membership - Open!

Our traditional RHA "membership drive" kicks off in November with the Christmas Lights nomination Contest and extends through February. Historically, the largest influx of renewals come in shortly after the annual Our Rossmoor Magazine lands in homes between Christmas and New Years. 

This year we are sending out the magazine a little later in January to see if it's the mailing that creates the large number of renewals, or if it's the end of the year that triggers people to renew their memberships. 

This is to say, look for our annual magazine toward mid-January with 2024 in review and a preview of some of the events coming to Rossmoor in 2025.

Winter Quarter Shredding - January 25th

Our quarterly shredding event is on Saturday, January 25th at Lee School. We will kick off at 8:00 and close at noon or when the truck is full. 

And for 2025, we have event sponsors Marni Rice &  Nina Schau from Rossmoor Luxe Properties  and Patricia Megallon from State Farm Insurance. Both these Los Alamitos based businesses are here to answer your questions. Stop by our shredding event or give them a call. They would love to hear from you.

CR&R Tree Pick Up

CR&R's free tree collection began on your home pick up day starting 

RWC Scholarship Deadline Jan 17th

The Rossmoor Woman’s Club is offering a limited number of college scholarships of $500 to more than $1,000 to Los Alamitos High School seniors. The awards are based on both need and academic achievement.

Applications are available to students digitally on their school accounts or they may be picked up in the school College and Career office.

Completed applications must be turned in to Gladys Alfaro in the College and Career office by January 17, 2025. Winners will be notified on Senior Awards Night in May.

The Youth Center’s Every 15 Minutes applications are still open! 

This is a chance for students to volunteer and experience an eye-opening event that shows the impact of driving irresponsibly. During the program on April 3-4, 2025, volunteers will engage in impactful activities that promote critical thinking, safety and responsible decision-making. There are 32 spots open to students at Los Alamitos High School.

When picked, the students and their parents will undergo training to ensure the impact on the community. The staged event will have a police officer come into the class pull out a student and pronounce them dead every 15 minutes. The students pretending to be dead can no longer interact with their peers. Students picked will also be trained on how to act during the day when the event goes on. Parents and friends of the students are left unaware of the training and the participation of the students giving the experience of a real traffic accident.
