Rossmoor Movies In The Park: Moana 2, Friday July 18th @ Dusk Rush Park
Rossmoor CSD Board Meeting: Tuesday, August 12th 7:00 pm Rush Park
Rossmoor Family Festival: Saturday, August 9th, 3:00-8:00 pm Rush Park
Hi -
Weather this weekend has been terrific. The festival last night was about ideal -comfortable all day and the crowd loved The Emperors. Good times in Rossmoor.
This week the weather should be comfortable in the mid-70s. Do take advantage of this
and get outside to enjoy our tree lined streets and fresh air.
Sweeping this week will be on Tuesday this week for the EVEN addresses. Let's keep at the 100% vehicle and waste cart free streets. It's working and thank you!
Shredding & Nonperishable Food Collection
This Saturday
Our quarterly Get Shredded events have just gotten better for our community. The RHA has partnered withWe Care to collect nonperishable food for the local families they serve.
Any non-perishable food and especially canned proteins (think canned tuna, chicken, salmon & chili) are in high demand by the the local families that We Care serves. This is a great opportunity to drop off your documents to be shredded and a few cans or other non-perishable food
items at the same time. And, if you don't have any shredding, you can still drop off food.
Construction continues on the I-605/Katella Avenue Interchange Project
most of the vegetation has been cleared. Median removal under the bridges should begin shortly. Here’s what to expect:
Temporary
closures of on and off ramps, especially at night (9 PM to 5 AM)
Katella/Willow median removal work - inside lane
closures
Access to local businesses will be maintained
Stay alert, follow the signs, and keep our roads safe. Text "605Katella" to 888-720-7016 for updates and more!
Night work will generally occur between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Message signs will be placed in advance of the closures. Specific details regarding ramp closures will be available in future
communications.
The Rossmoor Woman's Club (RWC) is looking for homes to display on the annual Holiday Home Tour.
Could we entice you to open-up your home, all decked out for the holidays and help local charities at the same
time? The Holiday Home Tour is the club's largest fundraiser. All net proceeds go back to local charities and LAHS senior scholarships.
The Holiday Home Tour is scheduled for Sunday, December 7, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (note to self: save the date!)
On the day of the event, club members will be stationed in your home as docents, to make sure everything runs smoothly.
We have plenty of time to prepare but the first thing we need to do is identify the homes for the tour so the ticket booklets can go into production this
summer.
Please consider this opportunity to participate and give back to the community by offering your home for display on this year's RWC Holiday Home Tour. Contact Sue Goldberg, Holiday Home Tour Chair, for any questions or concerns: 562-243-7199, ssgoldberg4@gmail.com.
Kids Night Out - Friday Night 7/18
The Youth Center continues their terrific Kids Night Out Party every month during the summer. That's right the 3rd Friday of every month kids get a night our while their parents (and grandparents) can do what they want from 6 until 10:30.
Give your kids a break and let them hang out with
other area kids on Friday, July 18th. Make your reservations here.
Come on out to the Rossmoor Farmers Market from 4 to 7 this Thursday. You'll find all sorts of treasures in the way of food and crafts. Plus the always popular fresh produce. Don't miss out!
Griffin Gazette: With school out for the summer we will keep an eye on the Griffin Gazette webpage, but don't expect many new articles over the summer. We will post articles once the
student reporters are back in action...
