Weather should be in the upper 70s for the week, so nothing dramatic in the way of change there. Our last sweeping day of the month will be on Monday. You know what to do - clear the OOD side gutters so the sweepers can work.
Thanks. Next Saturday is our quarterly Get Shredded event. We will be at Lee from 8 until noon for the free shredding drop off (yes, it will be shredded there, before you can get home)....
Shredding & Nonperishable Food Collection This Saturday
Our quarterly Get Shredded events have just gotten better for our community. The RHA has partnered with We Care to collect nonperishable food for the local families they serve. Any non-perishable food and especially canned proteins (think canned tuna, chicken, salmon & chili) are in high demand by the the local families that We Care serves. This is a great opportunity to drop off your documents to be shredded and a few cans or other non-perishable food
items at the same time. And, if you don't have any shredding, you can still drop off food.
605-Katella Construction Update for 7/21-7/25
We will update our 605-Katella Project page when we get updates from the OCTA.
Please always check their website for the latest information on closures and detours. Construction continues on the I-605/Katella Avenue Interchange Project
most of the vegetation has been cleared. Median removal under the bridges should begin shortly. Here’s what to expect: CLOSURES - Inside lane on eastbound and westbound Katella Avenue/Willow Street, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday July 21 through Friday, July 25 (into Saturday morning)
- Northbound I-605 on-ramp, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday, July 21 through
Friday, July 25 (into Saturday morning). See detour map below
Sidewalk Demolition and Reconstruction To accommodate the new bike lanes, sidewalk demolition and reconstruction is slated to begin next month. Once this work begins, this will require pedestrians to be
detoured and lane reductions on Katella Avenue. More information will be available in future communications. Stay alert, follow the signs, and keep our roads safe. Text "605Katella" to 888-720-7016 for updates and more!

RWD's Holiday Home Tour Request The Rossmoor Woman's Club (RWC) is looking for homes to display on the annual Holiday Home Tour. Could we entice you to open-up your home, all decked out for the holidays and help local charities at the same
time? The Holiday Home Tour is the club's largest fundraiser. All net proceeds go back to local charities and LAHS senior scholarships. The Holiday Home Tour is scheduled for Sunday, December 7, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (note to self: save the date!) On the day of the event, club members will be stationed in your home as docents, to make sure everything runs smoothly. We have plenty of time to prepare but the first thing we need to do is identify the homes for the tour so the ticket booklets can go into production this
summer. Please consider this opportunity to participate and give back to the community by offering your home for display on this year's RWC Holiday Home Tour. Contact Sue Goldberg, Holiday Home Tour Chair, for any questions or concerns: 562-243-7199, ssgoldberg4@gmail.com.

New Vendor - UpCup Koffee!
Griffin Gazette: With school out for the summer we will keep an eye on the Griffin Gazette webpage, but don't expect many new articles over the summer. We will post articles once the student reporters are back in action...
Change of Command - NWS Seal Beach
We’re going to miss Captain Jessica O’Brien, but it’s pretty obvious that we are in great hands with Captain Kyle Caldwell, too – especially that he’s a Rotarian! We couldn’t have asked for better weather, for such a special occasion, and we thoroughly enjoyed the morning at the Seal
Beach Naval Weapons Station. On July 18, 2025, Captain Kyle A. Caldwell officially assumed command of Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach, taking over from the departing Captain Jessica O’Brien in a traditional Navy Change of Command ceremony that echoed through the base and resonated across the community.
Community Groups & Resources
Our community has a number of great ways for you to engage with your neighbors in hobbies and activities. While these are not RHA groups, they are great resources for you and your family members. Check them out.
