Us
If you've ever worried about cars speeding down our streets or had a close call with an ebike, you're not alone—and now there's a real opportunity to do something about it. On Monday, June 17 at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room at Rossmoor Park, Orange County Public Works (OCPW)
will share an important update on the County’s new Local Road Safety Program—a countywide effort focused on making local roads safer for everyone, including here in Rossmoor. Come join the conversation where there will be a brief presentation to explain the program and how it specifically can improve Rossmoor. There will be time for questions along with a map
of the area where you can help the county pinpoint and identify any safety issues within Rossmoor. Please read this article for more information and to review the program's FAQs and find a link to the
County's survey.
Rossmoor Graduation Parade!
What started in 2020 as a creative workaround to a pandemic-canceled graduation has become one of Rossmoor’s most beloved traditions — and on Saturday, May 31, the 6th Annual Rossmoor Graduation Parade made it clear: this event isn’t going anywhere. More than 675 graduates, friends, and family packed into nearly 140 decorated vehicles for the five-mile journey through Rossmoor’s tree-lined streets. Lawn chairs, handmade signs, pom-poms, ezups, picnics, and plenty of cowbells greeted the Class of 2025 at every turn. The vibe? Part pep rally, part neighborhood block party — with a dose of cheers and car horns for good measure. This year’s theme, “Ready to Launch,” was fitting for both the graduates and the parade itself, which has grown into a community-wide rite of passage. The parade included everything from classic convertibles and SUVs decked out in school colors, to a military LMTV carrying 18 cadets from Sunburst Youth Academy — a standout moment that brought cheers all along the route. Retiring teachers from the Los Alamitos Unified
School District even made their final lap aboard a decorated boat.. Graduation Event Photos - Gallery Updated.... We have received a bunch of photos and have (finally) posted them to our neighborhood Gallery. Stop by and check out these terrific photos and
videos. And, if you have some graduation or parade shots you'd like included in the gallery on to share with the neighborhood, please do upload them
here. These can be photos or videos from the parade, family graduation events or the formal graduation itself. The more the merrier! Thanks!

Griffin Gazette: From ‘Descendants’ dreaming to national teams: Amalia Berthon’s lacrosse journey
Jaya Eapen, Audience Editor with the LAHS Griffin Gazette talks with Amalia Berthon about her "tourney" focus and her lacrosse journey. Read the full article here.
As any Gen Z youth who grew up on Disney Channel movies knows, in the 2015 cinematic adventure film “Descendants,” many of the main characters bond over the fictional game “tourney,” modeled after lacrosse. While the movie’s plot focuses on the children of classic Disney villains, a young Amalia Berthon had eyes for only one
thing: tourney. Longing to be like her beloved characters, Berthon, a junior at Los Alamitos High School, set out to experience the next closest thing. She began her athletic career in sixth grade after experimenting with different sports to discover her true passion, but she eventually decided on lacrosse. “Before lacrosse, I played basketball and softball, but I just didn’t enjoy playing those sports that much,” Berthon said. Currently on the LAHS girls varsity lacrosse team, Berthon has immensely grown her lacrosse talents, leading her to come across a spot on the Orange County national lacrosse team. Berthon explained how she joined the team and her upcoming position. Berthon was spotlighted
by her LAHS varsity team after making the OC national team. “For the OC national team, coaches nominate their players to try out,” Berthon said. “I will also be playing midfield.” The official USA Lacrosse National Tournament itself was hosted from May 24-25 at the University of Massachusetts, where high school girls from across the country competed.....
