605-Katella Construction Update - 12/12/2025
We will update our 605-Katella Project page when we get updates from the OCTA.
Please always check their website for the latest information on closures and detours. Construction continues on the I-605/Katella Avenue Interchange
Project. Crews are expected to realign the on-ramp to create a workspace for a Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) wall, which will include filling the embankment, pavement work, restriping, and placing temporary concrete barriers. This work will occur nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and is anticipated to take about one more week. Following this work, motorists will notice
a minor traffic shift on the on-ramp. Here’s what to expect looking ahead: Over the next few months, crews will be working behind k-rail on eastbound and westbound Katella Avenue between the freeway and Epson Way. Work includes relocating utilities, reconstructing the sidewalks and performing roadway work to make room for
a new bike lane.
Eastbound and westbound Katella Avenue have both been reduced to three lanes between the
northbound I-605 ramps and Epson Way during this phase of construction. Motorists may experience traffic delays and should allow extra time to reach their destinations. Please use caution while traveling through the construction area.
Work hours are 6.a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Weekend and night work may be required for some activities. As with any construction project, the public may experience noise, vibration and lighting for nighttime construction operations. |
Upcoming Closures Please plan ahead and expect delays during these times. The following closures are expected to be in place nightly from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., weekday evenings: Outside lanes on eastbound and westbound Katella Avenue/Willow Street, at least one lane will be open to traffic at all
times
Outside lane on northbound and southbound I-605 at Katella Avenue/Willow Street; at least three lanes will
be open to traffic at all times

Ever wonder why the I-605/Katella Avenue Interchange Project is so important? This project will improve travel for drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians
by: - Modifying northbound and southbound ramps at Katella Avenue
- Adding Class II bike lanes in both directions
- Enhancing sidewalk connectivity between Coyote Creek Channel and Epson Way
- Constructing ADA curb ramps with new signage and
crosswalks

With the holidays here and 2025 rapidly coming to a close, many begin to look forward to the new year. Whether your New Year’s resolutions vary from cutting fried food to learning an instrument, somewhere on that list should be a trip to your local movie theater. Though the movies of 2025 were impressive, 2026 is projected to be one of the biggest
years at the box office. While the list below is not exhaustive, it features five of the many must-see movies on the big screen next year.
“Wuthering Heights” – Feb. 13, 2026 “Saltburn” director, Emerald Fennell, has taken on another grand project; this time, adapting Emily Brontë’s 1847 novel, known to many as “the greatest love story of all time.” Starring Margot Robbie as Catherine Earnshaw and Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff, the film’s
star-studded cast already has fans on the edge of their seats. Fennell’s adaptation aims to emphasize the seemingly inexplicable pull the two characters have on each other throughout the entirety of their lives. Holding such a renowned place in literature, many remain skeptical of the tone of the movie transmitted from the trailers. Some have criticized it as appearing “raunchy” or too provocative; however, Robbie has defended
Fennell’s approach as epically romantic. “I think people will be surprised…These epic romances and period pieces aren’t often made by women,” Robbie said when asked about the film in a British Vogue cover story. “The Devil Wears Prada 2” – May 1, 2026“The Devil Wears Prada” sequel is finally underway and set for release 20 years after the original. Returning to the stage, both Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep have reprised their lead roles as Andrea “Andy” Sachs and Miranda Priestly, respectively. Emily Blunt and
Stanley Tucci are also set to reunite, joined by their new co-stars Rachel Bloom and Lucy Liu. Tackling current issues of today’s society, the film centers around the decline of traditional magazine publishing. Miranda Priestly is tasked with... Here's the rest of the must see films.
