On Friday, Dec. 12, Taylor Swift released the first two episodes of her first-ever docuseries, “End of an Era,” which focuses on Swift’s career and life behind the cameras. It also includes exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from Swift’s record-breaking tour, “The Eras Tour.” The docuseries will consist of six episodes in total, with the first two episodes already released on
December 12, and the subsequent episodes released in two-episode drops every Friday.
The first episode of the docuseries begins with the last show of “The Eras Tour” in Vancouver, Canada. Swift recounts her journey through the tour with all of her backup dancers, singers and crew members just as the show is about to commence.
“Everyone likes to talk about phenomena, like
‘The Eras Tour,’ almost as if it was pieces falling into place in some sort of accidental confluence of events that just happened…‘The Eras Tour’ wasn’t when all the pieces fell into place. That was just when every single one of us had done so much work to where this tour was just when we all clicked together,” said Swift when talking to her crew members.
The docuseries really showcases how much work “The Eras Tour” took to
finally become what it was. It goes through all the planning of the props and setlist, then to the rehearsals, learning choreography and finally to putting on shows almost every night.
In episode two, Swift talks about how, with the release of her 11th studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” she wanted to add it as part of the setlist during the international leg of the tour. This decision required more work for
the whole crew, but Swift wanted to provide her fans with something they weren’t expecting.
Throughout the episodes, Swift talks about what it was like working alongside other stars such as Ed Sheeran and Florence Welch from Florence and the Machine. They were both special guests at different parts of the tour and provided an extra special experience for fans who got to witness them alongside Swift at the
concert.
In episode one, Swift recalls a very traumatic experience during her tour that impacted her. In August of 2024, a terrorist group planned to bomb Swift’s concert in Vienna, Austria. Luckily, officials found the chemical explosives, and they were able to cancel the three shows scheduled in Austria. A few weeks later... Read the rest of the story here
