ASB, or Associated Student Body, is an extremely popular organization at Los Alamitos High School, known primarily for its outstanding student sections and annual dances. With 11 committees in the class, the work these students are putting in behind the scenes is astounding.
With the fall football season in full
swing, ASB students are working hard to ensure everything is perfect and that students have a fantastic school year.
Student and Staff Recognition
In Student Recognition, both the student and staff committees create new posters every week for the school. Student Recognition honors Athlete of the Week, Senior of the Week and Senior of the Month.
Staff Recognition can get creative with whom they want to recognize, by picking a teacher or staff member of the month!
“We’ve been very busy the first month of school with all of our football games in season, the assembly and Homecoming,” Mrs. Schanaker, ASB Advisor, said. “There will be more recognition tasks that will come up as the school year goes on.”
Clubs
As the school year is still fresh, the Club Committee is focused on creating new club constitutions, arranging club meetings and running Club Rush. Club Rush is a promotional event where ASB members inform students about clubs to join or to make.
