After the rain today, it looks like we will be very comfortable for the week with highs in the mid-70s under mostly sunny skies. It's a great time to get that spring planting and gardening done, before things warm up toward the end of the month.
On Saturday, April 25th from 8:00 to Noon, the Rossmoor Homeowners Association hosts our free document shredding event at Lee School (11481 Foster Road) in Rossmoor. Our awesome event sponsors Kelly Laird Smith with Coldwell Banker and Patricia Megallon from State Farm Insurance make these community shredding events possible. Both these Los Alamitos/Rossmoor based businesses are here to answer your questions. Stop by our shredding event or give them a call.

Los Al Link Helps Get People Around Town
Running errands should not feel like planning a moon landing. But for many people—especially older adults who would rather not drive across town, hunt for parking, or navigate busy streets—it sometimes does. That’s where Los Al Link quietly enters the picture. If you have not heard of it yet, Los Al Link is a new on-demand transportation service launched by the City of Los Alamitos to help residents and visitors get around town safely, conveniently, and with a lot less hassle. Think of it as a friendly neighborhood version of Uber—except it’s electric, easy to schedule, and for residents 50 and older, completely free.
Pickups and drop-offs can be scheduled from anywhere within Los Alamitos city limits. Pickup and drop-off locations also include several nearby retail centers: • The Shops at Rossmoor • Old Ranch Town Center (home to Target and
Ralphs) • Rossmoor Village Square (home to Polly’s Pies and The Meat Company) From those locations, riders can travel to any destination within Los Alamitos—and return when they’re ready. One important detail: Los Al Link does not provide
residential pickups within Rossmoor itself. Riders would simply start their trip at one of the nearby retail pickup locations. Still, for many residents, that short hop to a pickup location opens the door to easy transportation across town. Get the full details
and how to make reservations here

Run Seal Beach: The run by the seaThe annual Run Seal Beach event brought 4,000+ people from all across the country Joshua Lopez Hernandez and Faviana Sophy with the Griffin Gazette report on the annual Run Seal Beach event.
The annual Run Seal Beach event, known as “The little run with a big heart,” was held on Saturday, March 28 and brought thousands of runners to Old Town Seal Beach. Run Seal Beach is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to foster community involvement and raise money to give back to local communities. Participants were
encouraged to run, walk or stroll through the events; completion was the main goal! The event started with the 1k Fun Run for kids, who raced to the finish line with a small play area at the end near Main St. 30 minutes later, the 5k and 10k events began, where thousands of runners took off and raced down Ocean Ave “It is so nice to see everyone come together as a community so early on a Saturday morning to have some fun,” said local resident Shelly Diane. The ocean of runners running along the coast was quite the sight to see on a Saturday at 8:00 a.m. 17-year-old Matthew Mayhue claimed the fastest time in the 5k race with a time of 16:41 in the 17-19 age group. For the 10k run,
31-year-old Andrew Shen crossed the line with a time of 33:03. Everyone did an outstanding job and had a blast at the event. Runners from far and wide came to both watch and participate in the race. There were many student volunteers from Los Alamitos High School helping out at the event, such as the girls’ lacrosse, advanced dance, girls’ basketball, boys’ football and track & field
teams. They all contributed to the event setup and encouraged the runners to finish strong. The event would not have been possible without the efforts Click for the rest of the story...
