It looks like we will have mostly cloudy skies for the week with temps in the low to mid 70s. No real rain is forecast in our week ahead. Still there could be some sprinkles here and there. The weather systems coming our way this week are mild. It's Sweeper Time! Yes, it's the 3rd week of the month and the sweepers are back to clean things up a bit. Please make sure to move your vehicles from the ODD side of the streets on Monday and the EVEN side on Tuesday. It's a pretty simple step to take and it helps keep our storm channels and beaches much
cleaner. Thanks!

The next CERT Academy will be held on Friday, July 31& Saturday, August 1 and Friday, August 7 & Saturday, August 8. This four day class at JFTB covers the 20 hour FEMA CERT course and you'll get a chance to
put those new skills to use after lunch on 8/8 in a full exercise. The course shows you real life emergency first aid and light search and rescue - exactly what you need top help yourself, your family and friends if a natural disaster hits our area. The course also helps you get prepared for keeping your family safe and fed if an emergency creates a shortage of food
or requires your family to shelter in place for a number of days. It's a great refresher even if you already have these things in place. You can sign up now for this class or if you can't make these dates, you'll
be on the list for the next scheduled academy. It's a win win

Ron's Roses - Something Nice on Nextdoor
Rossmoor's own Ron Singer has created a group on NextDoor for those of you who like to see photos of roses and other positive images. It's created in Loving Memory of his wife, Louise Singer, who passed away on July 15, 2023 and is a terrific place to catch a respite from
what can be a very disturbing and negative social media platform. So if you want to be part of Ron's Roses, just click here or the photo above and become a member. It's free and gives you a pretty picture on those days where that's exactly what you need to brighten your day.

Celebrating and signing: Senior athletics signing dayThe Los Alamitos High School class of 2026 signed
their National Letters of Intent, segueing into the next four years of athletics and academics Sophia Shalbey, Editor for the Griffin Gazette report on the annual Run Seal Beach event.
On Wednesday, April 15, the Los Alamitos High School community filled the bleachers of The Griffin Center to support their friends and family in the commencement of their collegiate athletic careers. This roughly 40-minute ceremony featured 38 senior athletes from all sports and divisions, outfitted with custom ASB-made banners and
college swag to decorate their seats and celebrate their achievement. The ceremony began with Principal Kraus opening with a brief congratulatory statement, followed by a brief word from Mr. Hyepock, Assistant Principal of the arts, facilities, athletics and activities. Each student athlete was then given the opportunity to formally verbally announce their
academic and athletic commitment to their respective college. Students acknowledged the immeasurable support they received from their family and friends as well as the influence of the LAHS athletics community, commenting on the mentorship, guidance and inspiration they received from their coaches throughout not just the past four years, but their entire athletic
career. While LAHS also hosts a fall signing ceremony, most students finalize their commitment in the spring. With that decision comes a slew of changes that accompany senior year, making this an even greater milestone for students and families alike. “I’m super excited for the next
four years. (LAHS) made a good impact on me, and I feel ready for the next step,” said LAHS girls’ soccer player Kristen Coates, who committed to... Click for the rest of the
