Weather-wise we are looking at upper 70s and low 80s for through the weekend with a bit of a cool off (all the way down to the low 70s) early next week. Very seasonable and comfortable weather for us here. Enjoy it. Shredding & We Care Food Drive Saturday 8 to
noon As always, the last Saturday of January (that's THIS Saturday) at Lee School from 8:00 until Noon (or the truck gets full) we will be hosting our quarterly drive through shredding event. And, remember that we collect shelf stable foods (especially canned proteins) for
the We Care food pantry. It's one stop drop off for either or both. Plan to drive through on Saturday! Hope to see you there.
RHA Membership Renewal Time
It's that time of year when we ask you to renew your support for the RHA by joining or renewing your membership. 2026 will be a great year in the neighborhood, our Graduation Parade, Festivals, and we will be painting curb addresses this spring. Click the button below, right now, while you are thinking about it. Pay online and get a $4 discount from the annual $40 dues. It's still the best investment you can make for the Rossmoor community!
New Stop Signs To Increase Safety & Slow Traffic
At least two new stop signs have been installed in northern Rossmoor to increase safety and (hopefully) slow traffic. The intersections of Donnie Ann and Donnis (stop for Donnis travelers) and Loch Lomond and Chesney (stop for
Loch Lomond travelers) received the new stop signs. Please continue to drive safely and use caution on the streets of Rossmoor. It's good for everyone.

Got Junk? Free Bulky Item Pick-Ups
Just a Rossmoor reminder that included with your regular waste collection fees, residents can request TWO bulky item pick ups each calendar year. Each of these pickups can contain up to FOUR items. So there is no need to drag your nasty looking couch or old box springs out behind a local store’s dumpster or fill up a neighbor’s construction bin. Just contact CR&R and request a "Bulky Item Pickup". (hint: click the bulky item pick up link on the lower right of the page) At no additional charge. What could be easier? Additionally, the RCSD will host a bulky item pick up on the morning of Saturday, July 25th. This free bulky item event is in addition to your two pickups at your home. More here...
2026 is the new 2016Bringing back the nostalgia from 2016 into the new year Riley Mitchell, Staff Writer with the Los Al High School
Griffin Gazette shares how trends from 2016 are already making their way back to being current once again.
“New year, new me” is the typical saying for every new year we enter. Somehow, this old famous saying seems to be the opposite for 2026, bringing back trends from decades ago, for a chance to refresh. This year, pop culture
trends are returning from the 2010s, along with the creative and nostalgic energy. A decade later, 2026 offers another chance to reboot and refresh from the toxicity brought by social media and unhealthy habits built over the decade. This popular sentiment, mostly seen on social media platforms, arises from Gen Z reflecting on a past culture, longing for a more optimistic aesthetic,
along with bringing back trends such as fashion and music from a decade ago. While some believe we should move on and away from this era, others are yearning for a return to the peace and spirit of this time period. “Physical media seems more interesting than the advanced technology we have now. We are moving too fast into the future and want to stay in the comfort of nostalgia,” said Los Alamitos High
School sophomore Kaylyn Kekacs. A trend that has been recently popular is physical media over online media. For many years, physical media such as CDs, vinyls and magazines were declining with the rise of instant media such as online streaming and news. Craving a break from all these overwhelming platforms, people have begun to reach for something slower. “Students spent more time reading books in 2016, and
now students spend more time on their phones. They’re reading on their phones, but not to the depth.." Click for the rest of the story....
