April 25th 8:00 - Noon, Lee School
This week looks like we will be in the mid 80s with some scattered clouds in the mostly sunny skies. Warmer than our normal for mid-March and you might want to break out those shorts to stay cool. Street
Sweeping It's the 3rd week of the month and our favorite street sweeping company will be back to keep the neighborhood clean. Please remember to move your vehicles from the ODD sides of the street on Monday and the EVEN side on Tuesday. This helps let the sweepers do
their job and helps keep the San Gabriel River channel and Seal Beach cleaner and safer.
RHA Director Nominations Open
Each year the RHA has elections for its Board of Directors. The RHA Board of Directors are the 9 resident members of the Association that guide the Association and make decisions on behalf of the members. Nominations for Association
members who would like to serve as a director open in mid-March each year and close on April 7th. If you are interested in applying to be a Director for the 2026-2028 term, please complete this application. A member of our Nominations Committee will contact you to discuss the application and to verify eligibility. Our Nominating Committee will present the slate of candidates for the 2026-2028 term at the Association's
regular April board meeting. If an Association member vote is necessary, ballots will be mailed in late April or early May and the 2026-2027 Board of Directors will be announced at the regular June RHA Board meeting.
Curb Address Painting Continues
Every three years the RHA has the curb addresses painted for the entire community. These addresses are critical for emergency services as well as delivery services to find your home. And the uniform look adds to the neighborhood's
clean, consistent look. Did you know there are, over 3,400 addresses that are hand painted by Curbrite Addressing. The Curbrite team started in early March at the north end of the tract. The project should take about 4 weeks to complete, weather permitting. Check your address to see if it has already been painted.
Los Al Link Helps Get People Around Town
Running errands should not feel like planning a moon landing. But for many people—especially older adults who would rather not drive across town, hunt for parking, or navigate busy streets—it sometimes does. That’s where Los Al Link quietly enters the picture. If you have not heard of it yet, Los Al Link is a new on-demand transportation service launched by the City of Los Alamitos to help residents and visitors get around town safely, conveniently, and with a lot less hassle. Think of it as a friendly neighborhood version of Uber—except it’s electric, easy to schedule, and for residents 50 and older, completely free.
Pickups and drop-offs can be scheduled from anywhere within Los Alamitos city limits. Pickup and drop-off locations also include several nearby retail centers: • The Shops at Rossmoor • Old Ranch Town Center (home to Target and
Ralphs) • Rossmoor Village Square (home to Polly’s Pies and The Meat Company) From those locations, riders can travel to any destination within Los Alamitos—and return when they’re ready. One important detail: Los Al Link does not provide
residential pickups within Rossmoor itself. Riders would simply start their trip at one of the nearby retail pickup locations. Still, for many residents, that short hop to a pickup location opens the door to easy transportation across town. Get the full details

The Youth Center's Casino Night Each year, The Youth Center holds their One Grand Project which provides a significant amount of funding for their programming throughout the year. The funds provide the programs and scholarships for the youth right

& Big Hearts Casino Night on Saturday, March 28th at Rush Park. It's super close to home, sponsored by the RCSD, and the tickets are just $75 each.
RHA Membership Renewal Time
It's that time of year when we ask you to renew your support for the RHA by joining or renewing your membership. 2026 will be a great year in the neighborhood, our Graduation Parade, Festivals, and we will be painting curb addresses this spring. Click the button below, right now, while you are thinking about it. Pay online and get a $4 discount from the annual $40 dues. It's still the best investment you can make for the Rossmoor community!
Pickleball Court Rules & Guidelines
The RCSD is remining all pickleball players of the court rules and courteous behavior guidelines that are in place to help keep the park and surrounding areas safe and enjoyable for everyone. It's important to note the court hours and to
limit the noise while on the courts. Respect is a key component of a great community.

Falling Behind: Gen Z is Surrendering to AI And Short Form ContentGen Z is the first generation to not
outdo the previous generation in cognitive functions Riley Mitchell, Staff Writer for the Griffin Gazette shares a concerning study and what one country is doing about it.
The 21st century is full of revolutionary innovations that make life much easier. However, inventions such as artificial intelligence and short-form content have been shown to harm students’ minds. The newest generation is becoming known as the “dumb generation,” and they are doing nothing to change their
reputation. The biggest inventions shaping the industry and daily life for Generation Z, people born from 1997-2012, and Generation Alpha, people born from 2013-2025, are social media and AI. The most recent generations have grown up to be reliant on AI for automatic and quick answers for educational purposes. AI, accompanying short-form content on social media, has been proven to decrease students’ attention span and abstract thinking. “Since we’ve been standardizing and measuring cognitive development since the late 1800s, every generation has outperformed their parents and that’s exactly what we want. We want sharper kids,” said neuroscientist Dr. Jared Cooney Horvath in his address to Congress. Dr. Horvath studies human learning and shares his concerns about the changes in the cognitive development of children. Each generation after the next has risen in intelligence quotient (IQ) scores and has been more intelligent than the previous generation. This is known as the “Flynn Effect.” The average increase in these standardized IQ test scores was about 0.31 per year. Though it is controversial whether these studies can predict success in various domains, they show that
human learning has progressed, slowly but surely, over time. The reason for the “Flynn Effect” is that each generation has experienced longer hours of schooling than the prior generations. This is also true with Gen Z; however, it is the first generation not to show the average increase in cognitive development. The overall reason for this abnormal decline is believed to be. About the I-605/Katella Avenue Interchange Project The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), in cooperation with Caltrans, is improving the local interchange
at Interstate 605 (I-605) and Katella Avenue. The project will enhance safety and traffic flow by modifying existing on- and off-ramps, making improvements on Katella Avenue, and improving bicycle and pedestrian facilities. - Reconfiguration of the northbound on- and off-ramps into a T-intersection
- Addition of Class II
bike lanes with hatched markings to indicate bike lane transitions
- Installation of a new traffic signal at the northbound I-605/Katella Avenue off-ramp, along with upgraded signals at nearby intersections
- Painted crosswalks and newly constructed sidewalks to enhance pedestrian access and
safety
Most weeks during the school year, Los Alamitos School District Public Information Officer Nichole Pichardo recaps the week at the District's schools. This week’s Wrap-Up highlights: - The LAHS boys varsity soccer team winning the CIF Division 3 Championship and continuing into the CIF State playoffs
- Oak eighth grader Marc being honored at the ACSA Every Student Succeeding breakfast,
