Hi
We've mentioned over the past few weeks that the RHA website was being updated and eNews was getting a facelift as well. The new site is complete and online.
You can check it out here.
And welcome to your new RHA eNews letter.
The eNews will continue to cover the upcoming events and activities that Rossmoor residents want to know about. And we will be sharing information about our schools along with issues that affect us here in Rossmoor. If you have any suggestions on how we can improve the eNews, please just reply to the email and we will
get back with you shortly.
As part of the new eNews, we have a number of short emails that are designed to introduce our new subscribers to some the of the resources Rossmoor residents have access to, our schools, and of course the programs offered to the community. Since you have been a subscriber, you may be aware of some or most of this information, but we don't want you to miss out on anything that the new folks get. So, we will send you these
notes over the next couple of weeks as well.
Most of all we want to thank you for being a subscriber to the RHA eNews and hope that you will continue to
support the RHA by remaining a member and attending the community events when you are able.
So, to get us started let's get a quick overview of Rossmoor's
history.
Did you know that Rossmoor was the trend setting vision of developer Ross Cortese?
The original homes in Rossmoor were built between 1955 and 1961 and were some of the first homes specifically build to meet the VA home specifications. The development contains 3,430 single family homes, the Rossmoor Manor apartment complex in the Rossmoor Village center at the north end of the tract, and the Rossmoor Park condominium
complex in the Rossmoor Center. The other condos in the Shops at Rossmoor center along with all of the businesses there are part of Seal Beach.
According to the 2010 census, there are 10,244 residents in 1.54 square miles that makes up Rossmoor. It was the largest walled community in the nation when it was built and Cortese's idea was that Rossmoor residents could live, shop, go to school and retire all within the general area. His all-inclusive plan included the schools
within the tract, the shopping centers, its location near CSU, Long Beach, and the Seal Beach Leisure World complex which he build shortly after Rossmoor was completed.
Until then, enjoy Rossmoor!
