[rha] Shops Health Club Update, Scholarship Awards. Signature News Mag, RCSD Mtg

Published: Fri, 02/05/16

Hi

So it looks like the rain is gone for a while and our temperatures are going to be warm, in the low and mid-80's for the next week.

A nice change, but we can use more rain. El Niño does not appear to be all that powerful this time around. At least not yet. Maybe it was more SoCal weather hype that actual weather?

Health Club Proposal Update
The Shops at Rossmoor held an informational meeting on January 26th. Rossmoor resident Pat Moore provided a very helpful summary of the meeting and what you as a community member can do to express your support and concerns, and most of all get your questions about the proposal answered.  Pat's summary is in the comments section on this page.

Great question, glad you asked.

Be Aware - Coyotes Are Here
Coyotes in Rossmoor

We are continuing to hear about coyote sightings, especially in the north end of Rossmoor. Many of these sightings have been during the mid-day. Please be careful with your pets (keep them indoors or within your sight).

Additionally, report any sightings to the Rossmoor Community Service District at 562.430.3707 or rcsd@rossmoor-csd.org with your name, address, phone number, time and date of the sighting, along with a brief description.

Rossmoor Walk & Talk

Rossmoor resident Bernie Beskind coordinates the weekly Rossmoor Walk & Talk  meeting at Rush Park on Tuesday mornings at 10:30. That is unless it's raining, then there's no walk.

The program is simple enough, whoever attends forms groups of 2-4 people and walk around Rush Park and they talk. How long they walk, how fast they walk, and what they talk about is up to them. If you need a topic to talk about, Bernie will be happy to help you out.

It's a real Win-Win
Bernie's idea creates an informal way to meet your neighbors and get some exercise at the same time. It could save or at least extend your life, plus you'll get to meet some really great people. And that is a huge win-win.

Come join us! The Rossmoor Walk & Talk is open to all ages.

The more the merrier - Invite your friends and please spread the word. Rossmoor Walk & Talk meets are held every Tuesday at 10:30 AM at Rush Park.

If you have questions, please email Bernie (BernieB_90720@yahoo.com), or come see him on Tuesdays at 10:30 at Rush Park. Bernie will be the energetic guy with glasses, short hair, long in years and walking slowly.
