Hi
The heat wave is due to break a bit in the coming days with cool evenings dropping into the low 60's. It's a great time to take a walk and enjoy the wonderful parks we
have here in Rossmoor.
Speaking of parks, if you have not yet seen the revamped Kempton Park (corner of Kempton and Silver Fox), it's time to check it out. Two major projects have transformed the park into an example of drought tolerant plants and a comfortable place to enjoy your evening. Thanks to Owen Pearce for completing his Eagle Scout project and helping in this transformation.
And keeping with our parks, our last Twin
Ticket at Rush Park is this Friday evening, starting at about 6:00 p.m. Please come out and join your neighbors while everyone enjoys the tunes from King Salmon Band and has a nighcap of Zootopia.
Meet the Candidates NightWe ahve tentiavly selected Thursday October 6th for our Meet The Candidate Night at Rush Park. Please mark you
calendars so you can hear what our local candidates have to say. There are 5 people running for 3 seats on both the RCSD and LAUSD Broads. Your vote can make a difference in our local elections.
Coyote Sightings & Reporting
Please report any Rossmoor coyote sightings to the Rossmoor Wildlife Watch team here: http://RossmoorWildlife.org/report
CHP Community Service Survey
The CHP is conducting a Community Service Survey to help them adjust their service to the people of California. This is the first public survey of this kind they have done. As you likely know, Rossmoor is an unincorporated area in Orange County. As such the CHP has traffic enforcement responsibilities in Rossmoor. This may be an opportunity to provide the CHP your opinion on how well they are meeting their responsibilities when it comes to
traffic and enforcement in Rossmoor. You can take the survey here, and click on the "Your opinion Matters" ribbon on the site.

The Los Alamitos Education Foundation (LAEF) is proud to partner with Dr. Sherry Kropp to host the 3rd annual State of the District breakfast event on Friday, September 16th at 8:30 a.m.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for parents and community members to come together to celebrate the success of our young people and to learn about our plans for the future,” states Dr. Kropp.
The breakfast will take place at the Eagle’s Nest clubhouse at Navy Golf Course and all net proceeds will support LAEF. It is an opportunity to connect with community members and parents who are passionate about education and the district.
LAEF Executive Director
Carrie Logue notes, “We are so appreciative of the generosity of our title sponsor, Alamitos Eye Care, and our valedictorian sponsors, BSNF Railway, Southland Credit Union and On Stage Dance Center. This support is critical to LAEF’s work to enhance educational excellence in our community.”

The number of coyote sightings in Rossmoor increasing. Please be careful with your pets (keep them indoors or within your sight, and NO NOT leave pet food outside after feeding time).
The RCSD, RHA,
and Supervisor Steel along with our state and county public safety agencies have developed a Wildlife Watch plan for Rossmoor. We held a team meeting last week to discuss reporting and our next steps. If you would like to be a part of our Rossmoor Wildlife Watch program and discover what we are doing and how you can help, please sign up for more information.
The coyote challenge
we face here in Rossmoor and throughout Southern California does not have a magical "fix it" solution. It will take a community effort (that's you and me, not "them") to keep our pets safe and reduce the risks in our neighborhood. Please learn what you can do at your home and for everyone in
Rossmoor.

Rossmoor resident Bernie Beskind coordinates the weekly Rossmoor Walk & Talk meeting at
Rush Park on Tuesday mornings at 10:30. That is unless it's raining, then there's no walk.
The program is simple enough, whoever attends forms groups of 2-4 people and walk around Rush Park and they talk. How long they walk, how fast they walk, and what they talk about is up to them. If you need a topic to talk about, Bernie will be happy to help you
out. It's a real Win-Win Bernie's idea creates an informal way to meet your neighbors and get some exercise at the same time. It could save or at least
extend your life, plus you'll get to meet some really great people. And that is a huge win-win. Come join us! The Rossmoor Walk & Talk is open to all ages. The more the merrier - Invite your friends and please spread the word. Rossmoor Walk & Talk meets are held every Tuesday at 10:30 AM at Rush Park. If you have questions, please email Bernie (BernieB_90720@yahoo.com), or come see him on Tuesdays at 10:30 at Rush Park. Bernie will be the energetic guy with glasses, short hair, long in years and walking slowly.
