[rha] Rossmoor Recycles, RCSD Meeting Date Change

Published: Mon, 10/24/16

Hi

What a terrific weekend. The air show was really nice and the Sunday showers were a welcome relief. The rolling thunder and lighting from the morning was enjoyable and I'm sure our lawns and plants enjoyed the sprinkles as well.

Rossmoor Recycles is this Saturday, October 29th from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. Please bring your recyclable plastic bottles, aluminum cans, newspaper, cardboard, and magazines to the Rush Park parking lot for drop off.

Proceeds fund RHA and local youth programs. Please support Rossmoor Recycles.

Town Hall Conversation Series
Our November Town Hall Conversation will be held on Tuesday, November 15 at Rossmoor Park with our guest from the California Highway Patrol who will highlight the CHP and how they serve Rossmoor. The conversation starts at 7:00 p.m.

Please come early as seating is limited and we expect a fairly large crowd.

Future Town Hall Conversations will include discussions with Supervisor Steel, the OCSD, and the RCSD. If you would like for us to schedule a specific topic for a future RHA Mini-Town Hall meeting, please let us know by calling 562.799.1401 or via our website

November RCSD Meeting Date Change
The November RCSD meeting will be held a week earlier than normal because of the presidential elections. The November meeting will be on Tuesday November 1st starting at 7:00 p.m. in the Rush Park auditorium. Please plan to attend.

Rossmoor Wildlife Watch
Coyotes in Rossmoor

Coyote sightings in Rossmoor have been fluctuating over the past month and we have not had any pet losses reported. Thank you for your reports and the steps you've taken to make Rossmoor a less desirable place for coyotes to frequent.

Please continue to be careful with your pets (keep them indoors or within your sight, and NO NOT leave pet food outside after feeding time).

Our Rossmoor Wildlife Watch program is continuing to collect reports and monitoring coyote behavior and movement based on these reports. Please do continue to report any coyote activity on the Rossmoor Wildlife Watch website.

If you would like to find out more about our Rossmoor Wildlife Watch program and discover what we are doing, please
sign up for more information.

Please report all coyote sightings here: RossmoorWildlife.org/report

The coyote challenge we face here in Rossmoor and throughout Southern California does not have a magical "fix it" solution. It will take a community effort (that's you and me, not "them") to keep our pets safe and reduce the risks in our neighborhood. Please learn what you can do at your home and for everyone in Rossmoor.

Rossmoor Walk & Talk

Rossmoor resident Bernie Beskind coordinates the weekly Rossmoor Walk & Talk  meeting at Rush Park on Tuesday mornings at 10:30. That is unless it's raining, then there's no walk.

The program is simple enough, whoever attends forms groups of 2-4 people and walk around Rush Park and they talk. How long they walk, how fast they walk, and what they talk about is up to them. If you need a topic to talk about, Bernie will be happy to help you out.

It's a real Win-Win
Bernie's idea creates an informal way to meet your neighbors and get some exercise at the same time. It could save or at least extend your life, plus you'll get to meet some really great people. And that is a huge win-win.

Come join us! The Rossmoor Walk & Talk is open to all ages.

The more the merrier - Invite your friends and please spread the word. Rossmoor Walk & Talk meets are held every Tuesday at 10:30 AM at Rush Park.

If you have questions, please email Bernie (BernieB_90720@yahoo.com), or come see him on Tuesdays at 10:30 at Rush Park. Bernie will be the energetic guy with glasses, short hair, long in years and walking slowly.

RHA Membership

The Rossmoor Homeowners Association (RHA) is a membership funded, non-profit organization and as such relies primarily on member dues and fund-raising to cover its annual costs.

What costs?

Great question, glad you asked.

The Rossmoor Homeowners Association:

And while these costs are not great, they do add up throughout the year. And that's why we ask you to join or renew your membership with the RHA. And at $25 per household, it's a steal. Just hop on over to the RHA website and fill in your information.

You'll be supporting the RHA and its many efforts to keep Rossmoor the great place to live it is today. Join or renew today!
