Hi
Sorry to send a second eNews Blast today, but it is important to let you know that the City of Los Alamitos has CANCELLED the public meeting scheduled for Monday January 30th.
Appeal to Village 605 Withdrawn - Hearing Cancelled
The City of Los Alamitos appeal hearing scheduled for January 30, 2017 at 6 p.m. is cancelled. The Appellant, (“Mr. Nathan Pinson”) no longer opposes the project and has withdrawn the appeal.
The Village 605 is an 113,880 sq. ft. shopping Center
proposed on the former location of Supermedia at 3131 Katella Avenue in the City of Los Alamitos proposed by Katella Property Owner LLC. (“Applicant”). While the City of Los Alamitos was well prepared to facilitate the appeal hearing, negotiations between the Developer and the Appellant resulted in the following changes to the project:
- Limit the maximum height of the pylon sign to no more than 90
feet.
- Limit the maximum size of each sign face on the pylon sign to no more than 2000 square feet.
- Applicant will not include a digital screen component in the sign.
- Applicant will cause count-down cross-walk signaling devices to be installed at the cross walks at the intersection of Katella Avenue & Civic Center Drive, which is among the intersections covered by the
permits.
- Applicant will tender a sum for enhancing traffic safety for school children at Oak Middle School.
The Appellant has since withdrawn his opposition to the Village 605 project.

LA Fitness Health
Club @ The Shops The Shops at Rossmoor and LA Fitness have resubmitted essentially the same proposal that was withdrawn last fall to build a 37,000 square foot facility in the parking lot behind Sprouts.
While the idea of a gym may be okay, the impacts on Rossmoor and Seal Beach residents or live in
and around the proposed project have not be adequately considered according to the letter sent to the Seal Beach Planning Commission. The full letter is here on our website.
Coalition Against LA Fitness Project The non-profit Coalition Against LA Fitness (CALAF) is raising funds to help represent the Rossmoor and Seal Beach residents and shoppers who frequent the Shops to be heard. To find out how you can help support CALAF, please see their website, Facebook group and Go Fund Me
page.

Rossmoor residents Bernie Beskind & Herb Halling coordinates the weekly Rossmoor Walk &
Talk meeting at Rush Park on Tuesday mornings at 10:30. That is unless it's raining, then there's no walk.
NEW WALK ADDED! Thursdays at 4:00 p.m. at Rush Park, there is a new group of
walkers. Plan to join them next Thursday to walk and talk
The program is simple enough, whoever attends forms groups of 2-4 people and walk around Rush Park and they talk. How long they walk, how fast they walk, and what they talk about is up to them. If you need a topic to talk about, Bernie will be happy to help you out. It's a real Win-Win Bernie's idea creates an informal way to meet your neighbors and get some exercise at the same time. It could save or at least extend your life, plus you'll get to meet some really
great people. And that is a huge win-win. Come join us! The Rossmoor Walk & Talk is open to all ages. The more the merrier - Invite your friends and please spread the word. Rossmoor Walk & Talk meets are held every Tuesday at 10:30 AM at Rush Park. If you have questions, please email Bernie
(BernieB_90720@yahoo.com), or come see him on Tuesdays at 10:30 at Rush Park. Bernie will be the energetic guy with glasses, short hair, long in years and walking slowly.

Coyote sightings in Rossmoor have decreased over the past couple of months. This decrease is typical for the time of year. Unfortunately, it does not indicate the coyotes are not in Rossmoor. They are still here.
For those of you who have made reports, THANK YOU. You are helping us track coyote behavior which is critical to any future removal attempts.
Please continue to be careful with your pets (keep them indoors or within your sight, and NO NOT leave pet food outside after feeding time).
Our Rossmoor Wildlife Watch program is continuing to collect reports and monitoring coyote behavior and
movement based on these reports. Please continue to report any coyote activity you see on the Rossmoor Wildlife Watch website.
If you would like to find out more about our Rossmoor Wildlife Watch program and discover what we are doing, please sign up for more
information.
The coyote challenge we face here in Rossmoor and throughout Southern California does not have a magical "fix it" solution. It will take a community effort (that's you and me, not "them") to keep our pets safe and reduce the risks in our neighborhood. Please learn what you can do at your home and for everyone in
Rossmoor.
The Rossmoor Homeowners Association (RHA) is a membership funded, non-profit
organization and as such relies primarily on member dues and fund-raising to cover its annual costs.
What costs?
Great question, glad you asked. The Rossmoor Homeowners Association:
