Hi
Happy November!
A few things to note as we start the final push to the holiday and
the end of the year.
First, this month's Rossmoor Recycles event is a week early on Saturday November 18th. this way everyone can have a long Thanksgiving weekend the following week. Please make a note of it.
Second, the RCSD meeting on Tuesday 11/14 will feature the OCTA to discuss the 405
Freeway projects, specifically regarding the noise levels. Please plan to attend to find out more and to share your thoughts with them.
And, lastly (at least for now), make sure you have Friday December 8th on your calendar for the Rossmoor Winter Festival at Rush Park. There will be songs, crafts, trolley tours of Christmas lights, adult beverages, our tree lighting and even snow right here in
Rossmoor. Come join in the fun.
Of course, next Monday the street sweepers will be here cleaning up the fallen leaves and debris in our gutters. Please park your vehicles off the street and keep your trash cans on the curb. Thanks - it really does make a difference.
Before All the Leaves Drop Thanks to everyone who has let us know which traffic signs are being covered by tree branches and leaves. Please continue to let us know when you find signs that are obscured. When you see one of these obscured signs, please let us know the location
by replying to this email or use the contact form here. Please include the intersection or street address of the sign and a photo if you can. We will work with the RCSD to get these trees trimmed. Thanks so

I-405 Improvement Project |
As most of you know the I-405 enhancement project has begin with the preliminary ground and soil work. The I-405 in both directions from the I-605 to SR 73 interchange will have CalTrans crews working intermittently on the shoulders and neighboring streets. Some lane and complete freeway closures will take
place as well.
The OCTA has also released a projected schedule for the bridge work along the 16 mile project path. You can see that here. Note that none of the projected work will directly impact Rossmoor or Seal Beach Blvd. However, if you plan to drive between here and SR 73 in Costa Mesa, especially in the late night and early morning hours, you may
want to check for closures on the OCTA
website.
The OCTA plans to be at the NOVEMBER RCSD meeting on Tuesday November 14th to provide a in-person update.
We will provide updates here as they become
available.
Once the project is completed in about 2023, there will be one additional traffic lane in each direction. The current HOV lane and an additional lane will be Toll Lanes for vehicles with less than 3 riders.

Rossmoor residents Bernie Beskind & Herb Halling coordinates the weekly Rossmoor Walk &
Talk meeting at Rush Park on Tuesday mornings at 10:30. That is unless it's raining, then there's no walk.
NEW WALK ADDED! Thursdays at 4:00 p.m. at Rush Park, there is a new group of
walkers. Plan to join them next Thursday to walk and talk
The program is simple enough, whoever attends forms groups of 2-4 people and walk around Rush Park and they talk. How long they walk, how fast they walk, and what they talk about is up to them. If you need a topic to talk about, Bernie will be happy to help you out. It's a real Win-Win Bernie's idea creates an informal way to meet your neighbors and get some exercise at the same time. It could save or at least extend your life, plus you'll get to meet some really
great people. And that is a huge win-win. Come join us! The Rossmoor Walk & Talk is open to all ages. The more the merrier - Invite your friends and please spread the word. Rossmoor Walk & Talk meets are held every Tuesday at 10:30 AM at Rush Park. If you have questions, please email Bernie
(BernieB_90720@yahoo.com), or come see him on Tuesdays at 10:30 at Rush Park. Bernie will be the energetic guy with glasses, short hair, long in years and walking slowly.

Coyote sightings in Rossmoor have decreased to almost zero over the past couple of months. The coyote gates are down and that is a big help. Other easier food sources seem to be available to the local coyotes as well. Unfortunately, reduced sightings/reports does
not indicate the coyotes are not in Rossmoor. They are still here.
For those of you who have made reports, THANK YOU. You are helping us track coyote behavior which is critical to any future removal attempts.
Please continue to be careful with your pets (keep them indoors or within
your sight, and DO NOT leave pet food outside after feeding time).
Our Rossmoor Wildlife Watch program continues to collect reports and monitors
coyote behavior and movement based on these reports. Please continue to report any coyote activity you see on the Rossmoor Wildlife Watch website.
If you would like to find out more about our Rossmoor Wildlife Watch program and discover what we are doing, please sign up for more information.
The coyote challenge we face here in Rossmoor and throughout Southern California does not have a magical "fix it" solution. It will take a community effort (that's you and me, not "them") to keep our pets safe and reduce the risks in our neighborhood. Please learn what you can do at your home and for everyone in Rossmoor.
