Hi
After a mostly nice weekend, it looks like we will get an inch or more of rain starting Monday afternoon/evening through Wednesday next week. If you have travel or outdoor plans for early next week, plan accordingly.
Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update:
One of our priorities is your safety and the welfare of our neighborhood. While the Coronavirus outbreak evolves daily on a global scale, local health officials are encouraging preparedness, and understanding what you can do to best protect yourself.
As the virus continues to spread it is important to understand how to mitigate, or reduce the risk of infection, and to continue to be prepared for any and all types of disasters for 3-7 days and longer if possible. We as a community can take action and be better prepared to reduce the likelihood of infection by understanding what can be done to minimize infection, and taking
steps to be better prepared.
As a reminder, the CDC always recommends everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses, including:
- Washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
It's important to take these precautions for ourselves and our family members.
Our Rossmoor High School Scholarships
The 2020 Our Rossmoor High School Scholarship application deadline is quickly approaching. We have a number of applications in already. The 2020 Application deadline is Tuesday March 10th! Don't miss your chance for one of the two $2,000 awards. Each year the RHA sponsors this program to recognize graduating high school students and help them realize their college dreams. See the article
below for details.
Spring Forward...
Yes, it's that time of year that we get to spring forward early Sunday morning. So plan to move your clocks (that don't automatically change) forward an hour before you go to bed Saturday night.
...And Check your smoke alarms
It's also a great time to test your smoke alarms. Even if your alarms are hardwired or plugged in, they should be tested at least twice a year, and replaced every 10 years. Why? The sensor wears out and won't detect smoke as well as a new one does. Make sure you check the install dates on your smoke alarms.
