Wow what wonderful weather. And it looks like we won't creep back into the 80's until next weekend. It's great to be living in Rossmoor.

The beautiful weather also makes it a great time to get outdoors and get some fresh air and exercise. Remember to keep socially/physically distant and stay hydrated. No sense compromising your health by not drinking enough water.

You and your family are invited to attend the Drive-Up 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular held at the Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base. Full details here

The event will entail a drive-up and view format of the fireworks show will begin about 9:00 p.m. Please be patient entering the Base at either the Lexington Gate (Lexington and Katella) or Orangewood Gate (Orangewood and Los Al Blvd) as a high volume of vehicles are expected to arrive and a check-in procedure will be in place. The check-in procedure will include an I.D. check, temperature check, and health screenings for all individuals inside each vehicle.

Gates will open at 7:15 p.m. for vehicle entrance only. No pedestrians or bicycles will be allowed onto the installation. Please follow exact instructions from parking attendants as they will direct vehicles on where to park. When parked, you are instructed to stay inside your vehicle and not walk around the event area with the exception of walking to and from the portable restrooms. All adults and minors must wear a face covering and practice social distancing at all times.

Last Chance: Our Rossmoor Fiction Contest

This is your last chance to sit down and knock out your 1,000 word entry for the Our Rossmoor Annual Fiction Writing Contest before the July 1st deadline. See all the rules here.

The winners will get gift certificates to local restaurants that are now open for take out or dining in. In the past, stories have focused on dogs from skid row who found a home in Rossmoor, the ghosts of World War II at a local church and tales of warm romance in our leafy neighborhood. All participants will be invited to an Our Rossmoor picnic in their honor, so you can meet some of your fellow fiction writers over lunch.

The deadline is July 1. Judging will be done by a former features editor at the Los Angeles Times and an avid book club member. Good luck.

Seal Beach Blvd Exit To Close

Seal Beach Blvd Exit From NB 405 To Close 6/29-7/29, 2020

CalTrans plans to close the Seal Beach Blvd exit from the northbound 405 freeway starting June 29th and extending to July 29, 2020. More Information here on our site.

Sweeper Ticketing To Resume Monday July 6th

Yes, the OCSD will resume ticket for parking on Rossmoor streets on Monday July 6th. Please remember to move your vehicles and trash cans from the street so we can have the gutters cleaned and help keep the mosquito population down.
