Granted it was only a 4.6M quake centered in El Monte at 11:38 last night. And still it was felt throughout the area by many. Maybe you felt it.

 

Did you know that this quake as centered very close to the location of the 1987 Whittier Narrows 5.9M quake? Interesting. 

 

For the past few years, since 1994’s devastating 6.7M Northridge quake, we have been fairly quite when it comes to earthquakes. Some have called it an earthquake drought. Growing up in the area, I remember the earth shook a lot more frequently than it has recently. And there are a growing group of experts who are seeing the recent activity, starting with the Ridgecrest quakes in July of 2019 as the end of this drought.

 

I’m not an expert on earthquakes, but I do know we as a neighborhood are likely...
