[rha ] Who Got Boo'd #3, Full Moon on Halloween, Toy Drive

What a wonderful weekend this is turning out to be. We had a great drive-in movie tonight at Rush Park on a giant 40 foot screen, Saturday morning we have our Rossmoor Spooky Shredding event at Rush Park and the Rossmoor Holiday Toy Drive kick-off happening from 8:00 a.m to Noon, and those who are going out for Halloween, get to walk the streets of Rossmoor. Pretty great start to our weekend!

Time to Fall Back

And speaking of Saturday and Halloween, before you go to bed, make sure that you set any manual clocks in your home back an hour as Daylight Savings comes to an end at 2:00 a.m. Sunday November 1st. It's also that time of year to test your smoke alarms to make sure they are operational. Smoke detectors save lives! Isn't your family worth it? Remember to Turn & Test.

Who Got Boo'd #3?

Our last You've Been Boo'd house for 2020 is from the Dewitt family at 12735 Martha Ann. The hand painted Nightmare Before Christmas decorations and colorful lighting make this home a worthy nominee. The You’ve Been Boo’d Halloween house decoration recognition awards are a joint project of the Rossmoor Homeowners Association and Creative Yard Cards who create such fun yard decorations for any event.

Halloween's Full Moon

It's fitting that Halloween 2020 will have the first full moon on Halloween in 19 years in Southern California. This is the first time the east coast has had a full moon visible at night on Halloween since 1944. It generally happens about every 19 years or once in a typically Trick or Treater’s lifetime. This year it also happens to be a blue moon. No, the moon won’t be blue in color, it’s the second full moon in October, with the first occurring on October 1^{st So, while you’re out walking the neighborhood or staying home and not participating, know that it’s a full moon and that is lighting up the spooky shadows. Oh and for good measure, Mars is very visible this month as well.}

Rossmoor Blood Drive Scheduled for November!

With the success of our Rossmoor Red Cross Blood Drive this past Friday, we have scheduled a November drive on Tuesday November 17th, kicking off at 10:00 a.m. Our last event filled up fairly quickly, so make sure that you go reserve your space right away: OurRossmoor.com Blood Drive.
