Winter officially begins on Monday and our crisp upper 40 degree evenings we are having, it almost feels like a real winter. Almost.

Bernie Beskind & Herb Haling Recognized

The RHA, RCSD, and the Walkers & Talkers recognized Bernie Beskind and Herb Haling for their efforts to keep Rossmoor residents moving through Bernie's Walk & Talk program. Frank Facey revealed the beautiful bronze plaque mounted on the planter box where the Walkers & Talkers usually meet to start their walks.  Parents - Do You Need Holiday Break Essential Care?

The Youth Center is offering an essential care program for students that are on break. The program runs from Monday, December 21st through Thursday, December 31st  from 7:15 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at The Youth Center building behind Los Alamitos City Hall. The rates are very affordable at just $26 per day. Get the complete details here.

Many folks have inquired about the traditional Rossmoor Christmas Lights Bicycle Tour. Plans are in place, and it will be a three night event this year in an attempt to give more people a chance to participate while maintaining proper social distancing (did you know that the safe distance while riding behind another cyclist is 20 feet?).

For safety sake, masks will be required for all riders.  The rides are being organized by the Lightning Velo Cycling Club and will meet in the Rush Park parking lot at 5:30 p.m. for a quick safety check and a 6:00-ish departure time on Monday 12/21, Tuesday 12/22, and Wednesday 12/23. Dress for the cool weather. The Club asks that family groups stay together and that the adults help to keep the safe distancing of 30-feet between riding groups in place. Here are the additional Bike Tour details.

The 2020 Rossmoor Christmas Lights Celebration team is thrilled to release this year’s HotSpots Map, including our recognition awards, honorable mentions, and bright zones throughout the neighborhood. 

So many people have been asking, and now it’s finally here for evening cruises between now and Christmas day. Time to soak in the Rossmoor lights via foot, bicycle, golf cart, car, RV or even a dog sled or two.

Yes, what could be better to do with the family (including Aunt Mable) than to check out all the incredible (not using that word loosely) Christmas Lights displays that have engulfed our neighborhood? 

Rossmoor participating families really stepped up their efforts this year bringing joy, laughs and smiles through colorful lights and displays for all to appreciate.
