Hi
Happy Sunday!
You did remember to "spring ahead" right? Just checking.
Scroll down for a free lunch opportunity this week and how you can be home fire safe.
Trash Can Rules & Regs
Yes, there are rules for everything. Including how long our trash cans are allowed to be on the street. Pretty amazing, but it's true.
And we have recently had a number of questions about the rules around the cans, and when they can be on the street. After a few emails with the good folks in the County Neighborhood Preservation group, we have the definitive answer.
With regard to matter of trash cans placed at the street for pick up, please refer to the Orange County Code of Ordinances Sec. 4-3-45:
Solid Waste Removal
(d) Residential solid waste containers shall be placed adjacent to the public highway, or curb thereon, not earlier than twenty-four (24) hours before collection is scheduled and removed therefrom not later than twenty-four (24) hours after collection.
If you have a neighbor who is leaving their cans in the street on a consistent basis, it in some way bothers you, AND you have talked with them about it (conversation is ALWAYS the best way to deal with neighbor issues), then you can contact the County Code Enforcement/Neighborhood Preservation team. Make them aware of the situation that you are experiencing and they will
address it with your neighbor.
If you have a concern you'd like to report, please submit a service request at myOCeServices.ocgov.com. For garbage cans, select “Property Violation” and then “Garbage Cans”
We have added this to our FAQ page so you can reference it when needed. There are also FAQs for where and how to dispose of hazardous waste, how to get replacement trash cans, and a host of other frequent Rossmoor questions. Check them out here
Lucky Lunch Wednesday
Would you like a free Lucky Lunch on Wednesday? It's St. Patrick's Day and The Youth Center along with Ganahl Lumber are giving away free Lucky Lunches from 10:00 to 2:00 or when
they run out. What's the catch you say? There isn't one except a request for a donation to The Youth Center. Sounds like a lucky day for everyone, especially our neighborhood kids. Pick up your free lunch on Wednesday at Ganahl.
Sweeper Monday
Even though St. Patrick's Day is Wednesday, there are no breaks for the street sweepers. Monday they will be here and the OCSD Parking enforcement patrol will be here as well. Please move your vehicles and trash cans from all Rossmoor Streets all day on Monday. Thanks!
