Just a quick note that the long anticipated grand opening of See's Candies in the Shops at Rossmoor is here. See's opened up over the weekend and is now available to all the choc-a-holics and guys that need a sweet gift for their partner. Remember to shop local and support our hometown business owners.

Rossmoor Red Cross Blood Drive

Next Wednesday, May 19th, is our next monthly Rossmoor Blood Drive. This month we will start at 10:00 and close at 4:00. Starting in June we will shift to a 9:00 to 3:00 schedule to free up the Rush Auditorium for evening events. Please sign up to donate the gift of life!

Friends of Library Sale

The Friends of the Los Alamitos-Rossmoor Library are finally able to hold a book sale again. The sale will be next weekend. Get more details here and get reading.

RHA Board Ballots

RHA members should have received their ballots. Please complete your ballot and return it in the provided envelope as soon as you are able. The mailing deadline is May 29th, but don't wait - cast your vote and return your ballot today.

Calling All Golfers

If you like to golf, The Youth Center has just the excuse you need (as if you really needed one, right?) to hit the links. On Monday July 12th at the Rio Hondo Golf Club The Youth Center is holding their annual tournament. This is a fantastic event and is always more fun than you should have during the week. Check out the details and secure you spot in this scholarship fundraiser event.

Artillery Fire Saturday on Joint Forces Training Base
The sound of artillery fire will echo across communities surrounding Joint Forces Training Base on Saturday, May 15, commemorating the change of command of the California Army National Guard's 100th Troop Command.
The traditional artillery salute by three M119A3 howitzers of the Cal Guard's Bravo Battery,1st Battalion, 143rd Field Artillery Regiment, will highlight the ceremony that will get underway at 10 a.m.
Test firing of the artillery will take place Saturday morning between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. in conjunction with ceremony rehearsals.

The annual Our Rossmoor Fiction Writing Contest is hosted by the RHA each year and is a fun and entertaining community contest that residents look forward to.

It’s a super simple contest: Rossmoor residents submit their creative stories in hopes of winning one of the prizes, gaining recognition from Our Rossmoor for their efforts, and having their story published here on our site. If you have family members (kids, grandkids, nieces or nephews) or know of parents who are looking for fun activities and adventures, share The Youth Center's CAMP SHARK (ages 5-12) and TEEN CAMP (ages 12-16) with them. Both programs are based here in Rossmoor are vary affordable, and filled with all sorts of science, arts & crafts, games, water days and fun... lots of fun.
