Hey there
It looks like we are on track to be into the mid-80s by Saturday and into next week. Great time for a weekend in the park, right?
Rush Park will be the place then as Friday night is movie night at the park starting at dusk, Saturday at 7:00 p.m. Shakespeare By The Sea (SBTS) will take center stage at Rush Park for a live performance of Romeo and Juliet, and again on Sunday evening for their performance of Much Ado About Nothing. There's nothing quite like a live performance of Shakespeare and the SBTS performances are absolutely amazing. Plan to
hang out at Rush Park in the evenings this weekend for fun and entertainment. Its all free (though SBTS does value your contributions).

Water Conservation Tip...
|
Our weather is great, yet the temperatures will be rising by the weekend.
Help your plants thrive and survive with good practices, while complying with efforts to meet our goals of 20% reduction of water use.
Here's a system that helps you take ownership of responsible practices to water your plants, conserve water, and reduce water runoff that contributes to contamination that empties into the ocean, through our stormwater drains.
- Limit lawn irrigation to two days per week.
- Water lawns before 8 am or after 7 pm, when temperatures are cooler.
- Water for 2-3 minutes, wait 45 minutes, then water again for 2-3 minutes.
This schedule will help prevent runoff and water lost through the soil.

We know that some of you can use help with your outdoor cooking skills. Here's a fun way to learn, get better, be creative, and get to know others who share your love of grilling.
The Los Alamitos/Rossmoor Library is having a cooking club event on Monday, July 18th from 11:00 to noon. Those getting together can share their successes/questions from the cookbook, and there will be a recipe made from the book for the group's enjoyment (can you say yummy?). Here's the link for more details.
If you don't already have the "How to Grill Everything" book by Mark Bittman, book, it's available online or at a local bookstore. But here's a better idea: our public library has several copies of the book that can be checked out. Either stop in or use your library card to reserve your copy for easy pickup, at your convenience. Time to get grilling
